Default ECU remap and a booster as a package - Yamaha R15

I am not sure if this can be posted here.

I saw that Yamaha is officially going to provide upgrades on acceleration. Is this true????

Any update on this Guys?????

The one which I saw:
<Its official ....Yamaha are including an ECU remap and a booster as a package for approx 20 grand ....this package will increase the existing power of the r15 by 50% to an indicated 25bhp....this will be offered by Yamaha as a factory option very soon .....i was told by an Yamaha official and a insider.... expect a drop in mileage but a tremendous increase in acceleration and top speed.>

Source: Autocar India Forums: Yamaha r15 factory options

Could some one confirm if it is true??

This topic required no Mod approval? Anyways, so the claim is 25 bhps, an increase of 50%... I see.

A certain 250cc bike gives 30 bhp, despite 2 cylinders, 8 valves, Fi, Liquid Cooling etc.

How can Yamaha possibly make R15 run at 25 bhps, with a 150cc engine?? After all, it's a Street Ready bike... What kind of crazy tuning is required for this stuff?

Dude, those are links from a forum, not a news site... and no source is mentioned. Getting ma' point?

@MODS: The link provided is from another forum and can be treated as speculative!

This thread will prove just to be source of wasteful discussion!

Deserve to be locked!

Did you see the date that was posted? July '08.

Very difficult to extract such kind of huge performance gains.

^^ agree with praful: Lock kiya jaye!
