Unhappy UG3 Digital Speedo Help

Hey guys, observed this issue of late in my bike. Whenever the Pilot lamps/Headlamps are on and when i either sound the horn or use the indicator, the orange backlight dims.

I thought it to be a battery issue, checked battery, even used a new battery and checked, it was there.

So, i checked two bikes of my close friends, their displays didnt Dim while sounding the horn or using the indicator

I went to a local dealer, he immediately said that the speedo unit is defective, get it replaced from the place where u got ur bike.

I went there, they say it s normal, i checked 3 other bikes which had come for service + a new 180 test bike. In all these bikes this dimming happened. Later i found that in one of the bikes the supervisor showed me there was no battery

Now wat could be the reason for this? Faulty wiring? Faulty speedo unit? Or is it common with ur bikes too?

Thanks in advance!

it does not happen in my p 150 ....see backlight is dimming means.. current is getting diverted to some other appliance lilke horn or indicator..when they are used. dimming can occur due to following reason...

1) Battery Weak- if battery is weak, it cant supply enogh current to all the appliance at once so dimming happens. u can check this with any battery dealer or workshop. (dont check at the same dealer u purchased the battery from.) if this is ok then
2) Faulty Wiring-this u have to rectify from an authorized and trusted service center. and mind it trusted service center. otherwise they will simply fool u. if this is also ok. then only reason left is
3) Dynamo Problem-- get this checked at authorized service center, but this problem occurs only when ur bike is too old or u or somebody has fiddled with dynamo.

As far as i know it just can not be speedo unit problem.

I think it is this. You should check the alternator and coil as well.

Thanks for the replies guys.

BTW my battery is fine, i also fit a brand new battery on my bike and checked it, even then it happened.

But i saw 3 bikes that had come for the first service + 1 brand new test vehicle 180 UG3. I checked all these bikes and even their speedos dimmed on sounding horn/using blinker. This is what is getting me confused.

Are all these bikes including mine having a faulty dynamo/faulty wiring?

I am breaking my head on this issue
