Question HELP: Pulsar 220 headlight Import

Hey guys i was wondering if i can get the projected headlamp setup from the p220 to install it on my p180UG3.I mean the complete headlight part[the black part with 2 headlight projectors, 2 pilots and the glass lens]

Can I install the headlight part in my current headlight fairing??
If yes then what kind of mods are necessary?

Also there is an option of installing the complete fairing from the p220 which houses the headlight.But I am not quite interested in that.

I have never seen a p220 very closely. So I don't know if the headlight assy from my p180ug3 and the 220 are of the same size or not.

Guys please comment.

ya bro..actually you can fit the whole front fairing of pulsar 220 on pulsar 180UG3..
i have seen lots of pulsar 150 and 180 with those 220 fairing...
you'll just need to weld the front headlight stand of 220 to your 180's chassis....

No u cant.

U have to do away with the current fairing or fit it with the whole 220 fairing

You can install just the headlight assembly, it costs 3.8K with bulbs. BUT, you will need need instally a clamp that can hold the headlight in place. This will also mean that you will have to remove your existing headlight assembly.

That was the easy part, next if you really want to use the full power of the headlight unit of the 220 your bike's electricals will have to be redone to give an output of 55W and be DC instead of AC. But you can still continue with your 35W AC setup also, but the lighting just sucks.

If you want to put the 220 fairing, you can do that too....

Everything is possible, but the question is Why? Do you want better lighting or looks or both?

@Praful : I guess he wanted to know if he can install the 220's H/L assembly retaining his UG3's bikini fairing! That's not possible right?

Apart from what Praful said, after installing it u will have trouble with the handlebars fouling with the fairing while taking turns. I have seen a guy doing this jugaad on his P180UG2. Plus u will also have to endure the extra weight. IMHO get an Avenger coil and a 55/60 H/L bulb. Ur better off!

@Insane: IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

Yes Aparajith is right. Install the Avy's coil, it s a straight fit, and get urself Osram NightBreakers. Superb illumination and intensity.

I am already using avy coil setup on my UG3.But the projected headlamps look hot and the beam spread too is better than UG3 stock.

Gotta try out this nightbreaker bulb everyone's been talkin about.

BTW why exactly is that headlight not going to fit into the 180 bikini fairing??
IS it too big?? Can't I cut the fibre fairing to fit the headlight?Actually I had this idea.Why not cut the current fairing according to the p220's headlight assy and make it fit inside and get the fairing painted again.Any suggestions?Also I know that I would have to get clamps and all welded.That's fine.But mainly I wanted a p180UG3 with projected headlamps[from the 200 ofcourse] inside the original bikini fairing of the p180UG3.

@Praful
Obviously man i will have to remove the current headlight assy.
BTW does 3.8k include the 220 fairing or just the headlight[reflector+bulb+lens assy]??

@Aparajith

Yes I know about the interference it causes in steering. That's the reason why I didnt want to go for installing the complete faring

Any wild ideas too are welcome.
