Lightbulb New life for my Italiano.....

Hi Everyone,

I have a two year old Kinetic Blaze. Actually its of my sisters, she never took care of it to be frank . I ve been using it from last two weeks as my bikes silencer has to be replaced.
I felt so bad for the poor bike as its condition is not that good .

I was planning to give the bike a new life and came up with few things that has to be done and they are,

1.Servicing
2.I was planning to put a high performance oil for it, would like your inputs as to which would be best, (Planning to put a fully synthetic oil) would it be recommended
3.Battery change as it completely dead
4. hid, but which one.... ?????
5. Body of the bike makes noise, i guess it would be taken care in servicing if i tell this problem to SC.
6. Lastly repainting it. Its original color is black, i want to repaint it black again as there are hell lot of scratches which is complete let down on the part of looks.

Please put light on all these points and most importantly approximate expenditure. (Point wise)

Thanks a ton in advance.

Yes, get the clutch plates checked, as this is an automatic. Brake shoes also may be worn out. You can get them replaced. Check the spark plug also, replace if the bike has done more than 10K kms. How much has it done btw?

Check the engine oil grade in the manual. I think you should start her off with a semi-synth first. Once you get back with the grade, you can check the Engine Oils thread for more info. Minerals are Rs.200-300, semi-synths are for about Rs.350 or so, full synths except Petronas are above Rs.750.

Go ahead. Battery specs will also be in the manual. Should cost you around Rs.850 at the max.

Let this be-this is not a P220 buddy! I guess the double headlamps are enough. If you are not satisfied with the stock bulbs you can go for brighter ones keeping in mind the battery drainage.

Yeah, loose panels-most of them have press fits. If needed, you can drill some extra screws or fix some double side tapes at the ends. You know how it is done in the P220.

Best idea is not to scrape out the original paint. I did the same for my Fiero F2(see avatar&also pic in album). Go to a local trustworthy painter&get it done. Ask him to cover the stickers(they use a white tape). He will then dull out one coat of the paint with emery paper&tinkering&lappam(donno what its called in English) if necessary. Then, ask him to spray one coat of paint evenly. Wait for sometime&then ask him to spray clear coat-its a transparent liquid used for the final coating. If this is done correctly, your bike will not even require any teflon coating&will be highly resistant to sunlight etc. lifelong. Check my bike's shine, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Also, there is dull black paint for the mirrors, bumper etc.
If he is a good guy, he will also paint the underbody parts, chassis etc. if they have rusted, with black paint.
So, I estimate your total expenses to be as follows:
1. Servicing&parts replacement (including oil): ~Rs.2000
2. Battery: Rs.1000
2. Painting&bodywork: ~Rs.2000.
I think 5K is more than enough for restoration.
Hope this helped you.

I think Motul 300V is 15w50. If the Blaze takes 20w40, then I would suggest Petronas 4T 5000 full synth 10w40. It is the cheapest full synth option there, for Rs.350. Motul&Castrol Power 1 Racing are more than Rs.750.
