Question 145Kmph On NH 45.. Speedo Error ??

Guys i want to know whether pulsar 220 can go more than 140+.. Cuz when i was returning from munnar trip.. my bike did 145kmph at NH45.. I tried four times.. Alltimes i topped more then 140+.. Ive did 9.5K kms in 2months 25days.. and my bike is new.. I was at full crouch.. when i was leaning back from crouch i saw innova overtaking me at 150+ so it is possible ???

Query Approved.

From what I have heard, the new breed of the digital instrumentation has some sort of speedo error incorporated into them, by Bajaj. For example, my bike (P-200) does 87km/hr. on top gear at 6000 RPM which really is not the case with the 'older lots' of P200s. They do somewhere around the 83km/hr. mark, if I remember correctly, at the same RPMs (6000).

As for your P220, I believe same is the case. A true 140km/hr. is really not possible on the P220. My P200 tops out at 132km/hr. speedo, which really is optimistic, to say the least.

I guess that could be the problem.. wat could be the max error for 145kmph.. it cant be more than 6 or 7..

I do not have any idea about the percentage of error of these latest set of digital instrumentations.

Thanks for clarifying that MG. So, 10-12km/hr. difference is there on the latest instrumentation. That clears up everything.

Yes, Aryan is right. The new lot of the Pulsars(All Ug3,Ug4s,200s and 220's) which have the white background'd speedo have some speedo error. Bajaj deliberately did this, i beleive.

I remember reading the same in some magazine too.

Both the bikes max out at around 131-132km/hr and the top speed of R15 is not more than 220.
