Tip of the Day

Hide and safe

Let a couple of other larger vehicles get across the crossing before you when the light goes green. Use them as moving shields across the intersection. They can take a hit and survive....you won't.

Default [Help]: Suggestions Required for touring with pillion.

    Hi all,

I am planning to go to Mangalore on my R15 with a pillion. this will be my first long distance ride.

I would need some help if this is feasible or not to travel 380+ km on R15 with a pillion.

    Cheers,

    V

u may feel a bit uncomfortable due to seating position but overall may not be a big problem.

    v much feasible . did 1000 + kms with my gf .

    but here its mlr
the roads after suck-leshpur Suck big time,
so pillion may find it tough cos the suspension of r15 is bakwaas for tht non existant slush n road.
plus its raining heavily there . so plan well.
get a lid 4 pillion, keep rain coats n take breaks every 80-100kms or 70 mins whichevers earlier.

    thts all.

It's possible .... just take few breaks and enjoy nature, tea and coffee .....but please remember to ride responsibly as the roads are wet and dangerous....... keep your cruise speed at about 60 kmph (I know you would like to see 3 digits on the speedo....but please avoid if the roads are wet/in case of rains) ....best of luck ...enjoy the ride....take a cam and post pics/triplogue here !!!!

Yeah.. totally possible mate. Just take adequate breaks. Otherwise the pillion will end up with a sore back.

Pillion Lid is a must do.
and if the pillion can also ride you can switch every few hundred Kms..

Easily, but if your pillion is falling on your back for long, it will take a toll on your wrists&palms, otherwise no problems at all!

You can easily do it buddy. Both of you must wear helmet and riding gear.

I've done some 200km non stop in 43degrees both being a pillion and rider on Pulsar 150. I realized that its difficult to be a pillion than the rider specifically because of the seating position.

Being a rider air won't flow through your buttocks and thighs wherein you would feel agitated, for the pillion, the things would have enough air, but they would keep on getting scratched with the sides of the seat resulting in rashes.

I was so pissed once that I decided never to be a pillion on long run.

You can do it. No big deal. Practice and both of you will gradually get it. It is fun!
