  • Experiment with Timing of a slightly Modded Karizma

    Hi,

    I have a 2006 Karizma, done 23000 kms.

It has a K&N air filter, free flow exhaust, bigger jet (127.5) and a NGK platinum spark plug with spitfire cable.

I want to play with the timing:
    I have many questions:

    1) With the stock CDI can you change the timing??
    2) If yes, how? If somebody can post the pictures it would be great.
    3) I have heard that by advancing the timing a bit, I will get boost in performance.
    4) Has anybody done it? How much should I advance the timing?
    5) Also considering Karizma has TPS so I guess it might not be having a static Ignnition Timing. Can somebody throw some light on how can I advance the timing in this case.
    6) Any side effects or precautions??

    Thanks

      1. No, at least not easily. Only way is to vary the pulsar coil position. But that changes only the static timing, not dynamic timing. Best is to get an aftermarket CDI. Now, I don't know if such a thing is available or not in India.

      6. Too much advance will cause detonation.
