Whats the usual future of such confiscated bikes? Are they sold back to a probably buyer after some kind of evaluation?

Therefore, if one were to steal a gray market SBK and go for a joyride, one could also rest safe in the knowledge of no police action eh?

^^^ normally these bikes are ceased and kept in the DRI custody until the owner comes to claim it back... if the papers are clean then the bike is returned and if not clean then they calculate the price of the model prevailing at the year of import.. add hell lot of duty.. penalty.. get the sellers details etc etc and finally when your pockets are empty after paying all these the bike is returned to the owner.. well this was what actually happened to a friend of mine.. so guess its the same with all.

BTW just wondering why such an expensive bike was left dumped.. if the guy who bought it can afford it then can't he get a decent hiding space to hide it from the DRI ???

They should use this for police service

or maybe auction it! Im sure it will fetch a good deal of money for the Police department.

Yeah, they should paint it white, put some red and blue light on it and vollah!! super cop reporting for duty.

But its actually such a shame that such a piece of beauty has been abandoned thrown away. . I feel for that poor bike.

I'm ready to hire a truck and take this bike home. any one wants a share in the loot?

Jokes apart. Grey piece or not, why would anyone keep a bike as expensive as this one out in the open. And i'm surprised its even there after so many days in Mumbai!
