Dude when i had last checked r 15 was 82K ex showroom, but that was baroda and i'd seen an OR riding it so i asked. there's a possibility that pune depot might not have r15 listed as a canteen item. Go to the southern command canteen and check with the canteen officer to be sure. Cheers. I have a few frnds there who could check it for you if you want.

I did not find P220 & R15 when i checked in Hyd CSD last Jan. I dont think they are available elsewhere.

R15 is a canteen item in baroda for sure. its a very normal thing for something to be listed with csd at one place and not with another. basically has to be listed with the main depot govering the CSDs of that area, i know it cos my dad was a canteen officer for about 2 years during one of his tenures.
When i got my P180 i was in delhi and dad was posted in Hissar. P180 was a listed CSD item in Hissar but was not available in showrooms there as the demand was very low. Back home in Delhi it wasn't a canteen item. So after a lot of searching we found a dealer in gurgaon affiliated with the CSD and got my bike. This was in 2006 ( PS- my P180 actually came out to be 3 grands lesser than the onroad price of P150 in delhi, in case of the r15 the margin is huge). And i just checked P220 is a canteen item in Punjab CSDs

I had checked at the main depot of Hyd. But sadly when i bought my bike in Jan 09 both R15 & P220 werent there, atleast in Hyd or i would have saved almost 10 Grands.

@ anhil8tr thnx for the info... i've almost finalized on buying yamaha fazer. it wud be gr8 if you could ask your friends for some information regarding fazer's canteen price in pune.

One question : My roomie's brother is in AirForce. Now, can I(not directly related) or my roomie(directly related) get these bikes from army CSD with his reference ???

he can sure buy the bike but it'll be registered in his brother's( the AF guy) name only. but to be very honest i feel its unethical to do this just to save a few thousand bucks

he sure can buy but if anything happens, it will be liable on the airforce officer..it isn't permitted by law..
If the officer is taking the guarantee then if anything illegal happens he is liable and for that i am sure nobody will do,and will do only if theres a close blood relation
