  • Penning down a simple wish list of features to be seen on Indian bikes

Google provides several articles on bikes & how each manufacturer provide certain unique features to each of their bikes. Some of them are as high tech as CVT's, ABS & some of them as simple as mounting the engine on the frame with rubber pads. I hope some Indian manufacturer to notice few simple features & incorporate them into their next version of their bikes . I'm not sure how far these things are feasible, I just thought to pen down things that sounded simple to me that may or may not involve huge costs. Anyway, beginning with two cents of mine here to build up this thread with whole lots of ideas.

    1. Mounting the engine on the frame with rubber washers or pads between the screws for less vibrations. Its better to even have these rubber washers between each screws so that rattles at one part does not rattle the entire bike as such.
    2. An automatic turn off indicator switch (does Pulsar have this feature?)
    3. Instead of wires hanging outside the bike, have a real quality wiring running inside the handle bars & the frames
    4. Alloy wheels as standard feature
    5. Turn lights that are visible not only during the night but also during the day
    6. Headlights to be switched off automatically if lighted for more than a minute during the day time only & ofcourse with manual overriding switch
    7. Engine underneaths & inner mudguards with rubber/anti rust coating
    8. When the bike runs in reserve fuel, the bike has less out flow of fuel through the carbs to yield more mileage
    9. Last but not the least, provide the IND number plates FREE along with the vehicle purchase (if possible treat these plates with anti sticker, anti writing, anti glare or anything from tampering from original )

Note - Mods if this is inappropriate pls move the thread accordingly. Thanks.

Yes this is badly needed. Especially on the UG3 pulsars and older ones. They vibrate like crazy at higher speeds

      2. An automatic turn off indicator switch (does Pulsar have this feature?)
Yes all the Pulsars since the UG3 have this feature.

      3. Instead of wires hanging outside the bike, have a real quality wiring running inside the handle bars & the frames
This may make it difficult for electrical modders like abhijeet080808, sajan or shreeni

      4. Alloy wheels as standard feature
They are a standard feature on all the bikes except the bullets right?

      5. Turn lights that are visible not only during the night but also during the day

      This would be nice!

Just a thought though it may or may not be possible as such.
Someone buys a Pulsar 150CC & has an option to upgrade the engine only through a Bajaj probiking zone or something like Bajaj upgrade zone, where in, the replacement of the engine with or without some additional engineering, ofcourse, with the consent from RTO which Bajaj does for the customer for a nominal fee & with a probability of strict condition that the engine should be working when the bike is bought etc so that the bike cannot be used with 2 engine numbers on a single frame number for the registration.

But for the customer, put this way that someone buys a 150CC bike & 2 years down the lane, the bike is upgraded to 180, 2 years later to 200/220CC so in that way, they don't land up paying the money for all other components such as frame, stands, wheels, tank, seats, turn switches, handle bars, grips or anything that is customized. In a way the customer could save some money too.

^^^^^^^thats not something any auto manufacturer would want to do...

And... imagine riding around in a 10 yr old, classic pulsar chasis / brake setup (read prehistoric) with an overweight 220dtsi engine plonked which screws the handling even further.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
