  • Complete overhaul of my suzuki samurai

    hey guys,

I took the bike to my nearest service center for a general check up and the mechanic told me that the engine need a reboring and some parts like clutch plate, gear shraft, etc.

its my 10 year old suzuki samurai still in great condition. My first bike and everyday it runs more than 50km with out any trouble.

Finaly i decided for a complete overhaul.
The things to be done :
    1. engine reboring
    2. Changing of gear shraft
    3. New clutch plate
    4. Completly new painting - ( perfect red and deluxe grey for the engine)
    5. brand new shogun front and rear indicators.
    6. New headlamp. (the stock one :P )
    7. brake tile light
    8. brand new front medguard
    9. complete new cables, nuts and bolts.
    10. speedo meter ( i couldnt find new one so planning to go for the single speedo meter that i can fix in the handle, if someone know which one and were i can find it please help me)

Hopefully it will be done with in a week

    will keep you guys posted

I suggest you to go for the stock console although you can opt for the cross handle bar... just my suggestion...

PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!

Thanks bigbore, actually i was inspired this whole idea after seeing ur rx 135 restoration thread, so i am going for the same colour theme for it.

about updates, the bike is in mangalore 50km away from my home, so it wont be possible to keep you guys updated everyday.

                1. till now all parts has been saparated and given for painting, the guy right now removing the stock paint, day after tomorrow he will spraying the new colours.

                2. the engine will be rebored and ported today ( sorry guys i dont have infos about the piston size or anything ).

                3. custom made stickers and new number plates will be prepaired today.

                4. About the speedo meter, i am still confused wether i search for the stock type or go for something sporty. i am looking forward for more infos about it from you guys.

also i was planning for a bigger carb. like rx 135 or something but the mechanic told me that will give some starting trouble, my engine is getting rebored and ported as you guys know, is it ok if stick with my stock carb or i should go for something bigger? does it really cause starting trouble or my mechanic is fooling me because it need effort for fixing bigger one ? do suggest me on this too. if bigger yes then which one ?

                              My unsolicited 2cents:-

                              Good gloss
Tasteful (read minimal) stickering on tank & side covers will enhance the looks. Now its kind of looking too plain.
Handle bar, grips if replaced with something more sober would be good
Please do away with that headlamp grill(?)
