Date: 14th February, 2010
Day: Sunday
Time: 0730hrs. (7:30am)
Meeting Place: xBhp Lane, Chanakyapuri; behind Jesus and Mary College (JMC)
Destination: xBhp official dhaba, Qutub Institutional Area, near Katwaria Sarai
Agenda: 14th February, each year is celebrated as the day of love and affection. It is named after Saint Valentine, commonly shortened as Valentine's Day. There are many opinions as to the origin of Valentine's Day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman. However, not getting into the details behind this day, let us all celebrate the day of love in our own 'biker' way.
We all will gather at the xBhp Lane, Chanakyapuri at 0730hrs. After pleasantries are exchanged, we all will ride together, in formation, to the xBhp official dhaba, located at Qutub Institutional Area. The formation can be 2x2 or 2x1, depending on the number of participants we have on the particular day. Please feel free to get your spouses along, it would be merrier that way.
Not only spouses, I suggest we bring in our friends and close ones with us too. Remember, Valentine's Day does not only mean intimate love, it also means love between friends, partners and the likes. So, do not feel 'left out' or hesitant to attend this G2G if you are single. We, bikers just need a reason to gather together, and Valentine's Day being on the Sunday is reason enough to celebrate it in our own style.
At the dhaba, we all would introduce ourselves to each other so that every one of us gets to know each-other. The new members who are planning to come for this G2G, please, do not hesitate to join in the merry-making, thinking that you all would somehow not feel "at home". Rest assured, I will personally make sure that we all greet you and make you feel just as much "at home" as I feel, amongst our fellow Delhi xBhpians.
Also, for a change, it would be nice if we can wear something colored red - be it a t-shirt, a jacket, the pant/ trouser, or anything else for that matter!
Red, because it is considered as the color of Love, you see.
This would also give us all an opportunity to see and understand just how seriously each xBhpian who attends a G2G like this reads the instructions.
Don't worry, no one (and I repeat NO-ONE) would be infracted if found not in Red.
This is supposed to be fun, people. Seriousness, for one be damned this time. Your xBhp t-shirts can 'rest' for this weekend.
So, try and be there with your spouses, friends (or even solo, if you wish so). Join in on the celebrations. I am sure with such a lovely group of people, it would be real fun.
P.S: Can someone contact me regarding arranging a cake for this G2G? It would be great if we could cut one at this meet. Nothing flashy, a simple chocolate or vanilla cake would do.
Also note, that if there is any couple present in the G2G, the cake would be cut by them. If, however, there is no couple, then we all would try and sort it out amongst ourselves!
P.P.S: This G2G is being kept in the morning hours as during the evening, I am sure most of us might have some prior "committments" (if you all get my drift
). Following is the map of xBhp Lane, Chanakyapuri as many of you might not be familiar with the place. This used to be the regular meet-up point for ANY G2G of xBhp prior to the server crash. Off late, people have become "lazy" and somehow prefer to reach the dhaba/ destination directly. So, this time, let us all meet at the "original" xBhp lane:

Note:
Please post your confirmations here, and feel free to ask if any of you have any doubts. Although, it is a day to celebrate, but please make sure, while on the road, each one of us rides in a sane manner, without any hooliganism. Wear a proper lid and other safety gear if you can. Also, keep your vehicle paper in valid condition. I hope you guys know these things already, but reminding it is my duty, as always.
EDIT (Addition):
On this day (Valentine's Day G2G), we would also contribute some amount for the Dream a Dream NGO for underpriviliged children. It will also be a meet to support Rahul (bluevolt) as he goes around India on his Ninja 250 for the same cause.
I would request Delhi xBhp members to please come forward and donate whatever amount they feel like. Although, as a note, it has been suggested that donations be given as per the engine capacity of one's motorcycle, but that isn't something which is 'forced' upon someone. Each one of us can donate absolutely ANY amount.
Let's support the underprivileged children of our society; let us give something back to the society, on this day (Valentine's Day - 14th February, 2010).Thank you all, and hope to see you guys there.
