    Help Me Buying new Bike - Need Expert Answers

    Hi Folks,

    Need expert answers for deciding upon the bike.

    I have shortlisted the below bikes:

    1) YAMAHA R 15

    2) Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PGM FI

    3) Bajaj Pulsar 220

    I love fast bikes, i'm a speed maniac. And the advanced technology is also a concern area for me. Please suggest me a best bike out of these. and should be Value for money.

        What's the purpose? Are you planning to ride on track or on streets? What're the advanced technologies that you're looking w.r.t speed?

        If you're looking for VFM bike in the shortlisted, then there could be nothing other than P220.

          FAST: P220 and R15 - on different track though.
          Technology: R15 and ZMR
          VFM: P220

          So see what matters the most - according to me R15 or P220 should be the deal depending on your priorities.

            Are you a tourer or just the one who loves street racing.


            Have you took test rides of all the bikes?

            The all 3 bikes you mentioned are different all together and the handling also is different, as you may get high speed from pulsar and R15 but the comfort winner here is karizma which is also good for city riding due to the torque what it gives.

              Actually you should have specified the way you like to ride.

              If you are a tourer, then the new Karizma is quite good. Or else I dont recommend it.

              But if you want advanced technology, then no other bike in India(except Ninja 250R) can match it. Delta Frame, 4 Valve Engine, Fuel injection. Its a mini R1. Fuel efficiency is also great. If you need an advanced sports bike, then R15 is undoubtedly the best bike among the lot. Karizma is better while touring, but R15 is not that bad at all.

              Pulsar 220 DTSi is a bike for the value conscious. Best bike, if you have a smaller budget. Has some of the qualities of both the above bikes.

              As you said you wanted an advance technology mechanical device, I can undoubtedly recommend Yamaha R15. The best of both worlds!

                If budget no problem then R15, If you want a VFM then its 220, 220, 220 and 220!!
                The 220 has brilliant torque and superb headlights which will enable you to blast at high speeds even in the city or highway.. It doesnt matter if its day/night because of its projector headlights!!

                  Go for P220. If you want great handling coupled with reasonable performance go for R15.

                  If you want a reliable non-fuss bike with reasonable performance, go for Karizma-R. Go for Karizma ZMR, if you want all the tech and gadgets.

                    it's the P220 if you looking for VFM or else it's the R15 for you.Your requirements in a more detailed way can help others recommend the right one for you

                        Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi is the answer to all your queries. The new ones are coming with the same tyres as the DTSi (Softer compound). Throttle response and Roll On timings are better than "Fastest Indian". You also have Fuel injection (a feature missing on New P220, but present on ZMR and R15).

                        And apart from this, you get Best In Class Illumination i.e. 55W Projector headlamps (Same as P220 DTSi), and a 5 year/unlimited KM warranty on the engine(P220 DTS-Fi only) (These features are not present on either ZMR nor R15)
                        Advice is a form of nostalgia.
                        Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                            Thanks for the valuable suggestions..

                            I'm a city commuter, and sometimes get indulge in street racing.

                            I have a budget of 1.5 lacs, the Kawasaki Ninja is too costly and way costly...

                            I have tested Yamaha r 15 and Pulsar 220 DTS fi...

                            I felt R15 is good at higher speed, the handling was good, but the torque was less at lower speed. The technology is so advaced coz of 6 speed transmission, 4 valve engine, Fuel injection.

                            The pulsar 220 was quick and fast in city traffic... but while reving at high speed, i felt its little unresponsive... The projector head lamp was class thing...

                            The new karizma is tempting because of its new fairing and the speedo meter and the tail lamp...

                            I want to test the new ZMA...

                            Post which, i will jot down all your valuable suggestions.

                              But it ain't as fast as the R15 / both P220s (DTSi F, and DTS-Fi)
