Fazer: Good only for city riding. Not a real touring bike as advertised by Yamaha. Good bike overall with adequate power. Not very exciting.

Karizma: Well suited to highways but does well in cities too. Handling is less sharper than the Fazer. More exciting.

Apache: Well suited to the city but can do well on the highways too with one or two small modifications. The only performance bike here: sharper engine and handling than the Fazer and Karizma. Also the cheapest of the three. Most exciting.

3 different bikes, 3 different characters. Your choice.

vik has explained abt each bike but i would like to add my pts too.
FAZER...yeah its good for city but then the fairing is useless for a city bike,FZ is a better choice here.

        Karizma,the best tourer prob.
Apache, very exciting bike and is right up there with the P220,R15 and ZMR in terms of performance.

..among the 3 my choice would be the RTR.
but do Test ride the vehicles and go through the ownership experiences to find any niggles etc and follow your heart!

        best of luck

My vote from the list would go to the RTR, but if you look beyond that, there is the Pulsar 220, which is really an amazing bike, extremely capable tourer and much more powerful than the lot

I completely agree with you P220 is a great performer, it will let you know in long rides, a very cool tourer, muscular and powerful(fast accelerating), and is as per your budget too.
Beside this my vote in your lot would got to rtr.
Enjoy! and make a good choice!

Different people have different interpretation when it comes to bikes meeting their requirements. Your choice and requirement is pretty close to mine when I purchased my FIRST bike ever. So if your taste is remotely close to my taste as well, heres how I saw it.

My dilemma FZ or ZMA-R. I have exclude all others for one reason or the other. FZ for its unbeatable styling and ZMA-R for its touring capability. Yours is Fazer, fazer was not available at that time ZMR too was not available, or it would have been Fazer and ZMR.

I have read all the pros and cons of both Fazer and ZMA-R as much as possible (mind you, I did spend several days and weeks reading through hundred of pages and not only xBhp). After I finally made up my mind, I went straight to showroom and booked a ZMA-R.

                Why?
ZMA has the edge on all departments that answers MY requirements.
70% highway, 30% city. Rifinement begins to make its presence known very loud especially in the highway. I read people saying that ZMA-R delivers here handsomely, and they were right. I am one who cannot tolerate vibration so any hint of unrefinement in this area was quickly removed from my list. This means the Apache. FZ was touted as better for city with ample torque and flickability. I do not doubt that, but I have to look where I will be spending more of my ride and that is the highway. Besides to my pleasant surprise, I found the ZMA-R a small bike that can nagotiate traffic as easy as any other bike and its proven daily. Fazer has awesome styling as well, still I find it no different from FZ.

Some are suggesting the p220. I do not doubt that its style and capability can equal and surpass ZMA. I would seriously consider that as well. The only hitch I had with P220 was on its reliability front.

If you add the P220 to the mix, then my views would be the following:

Good only for the highway because it handles like a truck! I was shocked at how the steering fights the rider in turns. Excellent straight line performance. Some questions over the long term reliability. Exciting bike only in straight lines.

ALL most all bikes referred above are pretty neat..

see, go in terms of VAlue For MOney. My advice.

the apache rtr's are amazing handlers..but they tend to create vibes starting from mid range all the way up.u may not like too much of vibrations bothering u..

the karizma is a good choice..the new Zmr is amazing. but are u willing to put out nearly a lakh on it ? moreover u budget is 80k
karizma spares are very costly too..

P220.. : amazing bike, latest models are very refined.. introduction of a carburetor gives u the opportunity to further modify it..
220cc with 21 ps of power on tap.
the new street version seems nimble on road.. although havent seen even a single one..
test ride all ur choices.. don stay without doing that...

when great amounts of power and peformance is given to u , its natural that fuel economy is sacrificed for it..

believe me , under regular , yet steady riding, my 220 gives an amazing mileage of 40+ in the city..
most other 220 owners say the same thing too..im too conscious in my riding.thats one reason.

chalk down all ur options.think twice or even more.TESt ride the bikes on ur list.

keep us posted on ur experiences.

                          don worry about height..
im 5' 9" ........ i can pretty much reach on a my 220.. apache will be a good option if u prefer it.. test ride it...

bajaj spares are very cheap, cheaper than HH ..
a front disc of a bajaj comes up to 1000 change... a HH front disc comes up to 2500+ .... quality is guaranteed. but still costly is costly..

i personally dont know bout TVs .

so now i would like to chose between rtr 180 & karizma..

Big price difference between the Apache and the Karizma.

The apache does vibrate more than the zma but it's not big issue in city riding. More noticeable on the highway because of constant high speeds.

For mainly city riding, I would choose the apache. It handles better and is more enjoyable in that environment. On the highway, it's the zma that wins. But the apache has good highway potential due to its performance. The gearing is too short for highway riding but that can be easily changed with different sprockets.
