  • r15 or rtr180 or p220

i want either rtr180 or r15.will cover 40 kms everyday in less traffic area in delhi. not into that much touring. want power n mileage of atleast 35kmpl.
please say that r15 does not have heating issues bcz i love r15.
    i want sporty posture.
also if bajaj has improved its service i would opt for p220.
how important it is to feel strong,
    rather than just being strong.

Between the two choices that you have, I would suggest you get the RTR. Good low and mid-range torque and power, and decent fuel efficiency too. If you want to go for the P220, you can do so. I have never personally felt Bajaj's service lacking in anything. It depends on which service center you choose, really.

I would say go for the R15, very refined, comfortable, powerfull, handles great !

The RTR 180 would be a no from my side since the vibrations ruin all the fun of riding it around, though it is a very potent, quick and refined bike !

The R15 is definitely the bike to buy with eyes closed.

if you have zeroed on r15, then look no further....... rtr doesn't even come close...... u'll enjoy the ride....... but if u have any second thought about 220, then go for 220....... personally I like more power, so went for 220....... did 4500km in 1 month ....... till now no problem at all...... u'll enjoy the power.......
          smoothnes--till 5000rpm super smooth
          power--from 100kph to 120kph, u'll fell the power
torque--u'll have to ride it to enjoy it
mileage--giving decent 34kpl from my insane driving....... m riding at speed above 100kph throughout my tour where ever it may be......
          vibrations--none in my bike(by God's grace n Bajaj's engineer's effort ).......

n heating issue will be there....... only on your riding condition....... driving just 40km, u won't even notice it........ so no need to worry about that.......

I weight around 70 kgs & have taken a pillion rider weighing 155 kgs. So dont worry about max payload.

Id say , go for the R-15.

Depends upon you,the prices of the three bikes are different R15 is the best and is the most expensive among the three you mentioned.
If you want your bike for fun, nimble handling, city driving then go for RTR 180 awesome pick-up decent mileage.

Funny how many people are now into the R15. I'm one of them.

The only difference between the OP and me that the only two bikes in my radar are the R15 and ZMR.

Its really annoying that the ZMR bookings are not open. The showroom guys was talking something about the strikes and HH not taking orders and all, so that really put me off.

I'm 6'1'' so I fear that the R15 might be a little strenuous later on. Any ideas?

hey mate if you are 6'1" then we both are in same category

my height was the only one reason for not buying r15,

it was really difficult for me to adjust with the riding posof r15 but i found it really easy with Zma, itsriding pos is 100% satisfactory for me

AFAIK ZMR also has the same riding position like zma

so IMO better stick with ZMR

zmr is all nice, but the price is too steep when taken that there is no real gain the power from the previous zma-r.
i am a honda fan and used a uni for 5 years and had to buy a new one,i am 6.1" and tried all 3.
                            r-15 - only if ur ~ 5.7 max
                            zmr - price/performance is very high.anywhere around 95k would be a steal.
p-220 - since all the issues are rectified from the 2009 model, and it costs arnd 85k,and since it's mind boglingly fast, guess it had to be the one fro me..

also the milage on the long runs..the p220 gave me 45+ (only 650~ kms on odo).
RED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

Buy a Bajaj. They are made for well built Indians. (and that I have used & still use Bajaj's 2 wheelers for enough time to have the right to comment on them)

Honda's are a waste of money. (and that our 1988 model CD100 still delivers 65 KMPL with its current owner)
Yamaha's are made for kids in Japan. (and that I own an R15 and swear by it)
Suzuki is an Unstable company. (and that all the 4 cars I've bought so far were Suzuki)
TVS makes puny tractors. Not Bikes. (and that we have 3 such tractors in my parking lot)

That leaves you with only one option. P220. Awesome.

                              That's for the forum.

Now, for you, if you've liked the R15 and have the money for it, go for it. Have no second thoughts about it. But I personally feel that you'll enjoy the RTR 180 more.
