  • Friends! Help me choose my next bike

I am Pulsar 150 owner (2003 Model) which has been my faithful ride for nearly 7 years now. But I feel that the time has come to replace it. I mostly use it for commuting to my office and the average distance covered every day is 35 KM.

    Following are my requirements:

    1. My next bike should be comfortable and should be a family bike as well. By family bike I mean that my mom should be able to ride with me . So the likes of Yamaha FZ are out of question. But I also like it to rip sometimes when I ride alone and since I have become used to the power of my 150, I would not want a 100cc bike.

    2. My Pulsar gives me around 40 kmph which is a little low and I would want a bike which would give me at least 50 kmph.

    3. Price : I am hoping that my current bike will fetch me around 22-25 K. So the price of the next bike should be near the 60K mark.

    4. Looks do matter . One of the good options is the Unicorn but I don't really dig the looks...hardly any upgrades done since its launch but apart from that the bike is a winner.

P.S: I am 5'10" tall and heavily built

So friends there you have it. You know my requirements. Please suggest which bike should I go for.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Parag

Suzuki GS 150 should be good. Also try considering the RTR.

        +1 for RTR.

Also parag mention your height and weight. Those factors help in deciding which bike would suit you.

For instance if you are tall an RTR would not be very comfortable for you.
Also IMHO, GS150 has a high back seat, so you Mom, or any1 trying to sit single sided can be a problem (I face the same for my ZMA-R).

So go with you parents and check out the bikes at the showroom for their dimensions.

Unicorn any day for a Family Oriented Biker.....

Gs also fits the Package - but As far the Quality Uni Stands Top.....

Why not you consider the Pulsar150 itself again -- as the new Pulsar offers more mileage compared to the old ones...and as you are a pulsar rider - you know very much about it...

                Rtr 180

You have very less options left, go for RTR180 and feel the difference.

Have a test ride of new P150 UG 4.5, The power is upgraded by a UNIT and i personally have ridden it, felt it tobe more flickable and the sound of engine was also different. But, if you can extend budget to 10K more than RTR 180 wins due to its ADD-ON's over P180 UG4.

                    +1.

Just go take a test ride for the GS150 and the RTR180 and feel it for yourself.

                      Hi Parag
I sold my 04 Pulsar last month. With similar dilemma as that of you, I took test ride of 150 dtsi, 180 dtsi, 150gs, 135 ls , unicorn and stunner (both models)
I liked gs 150 and 135 ls after multiple test drives. Both are smooth and provide rich riding experience. I did not liked front shape of 135 ls ( personal opinion) and opted for gs 150. 250kms completed on ODO as of now in one week old suzuki. Ride is definitely free of vibs compared to 04 pulsar. Sixth gear makes difference. However as per my opinion, if your drive is more of city go for 135 ls. If your ride is on highway go for gs 150r.

                      bye

as ur budget is around 60k the cbz the unicorn and the pulsar suit ur conditions very well. i wont suggest the gs150 for suzuki is low in service compared to bajaj or hh or honda. the avg will be +- 2 in these bikes. so not a problem in avg just consider the prices ant the maintainance. if u want relable bikes ill prefer the cbz and the unicorn.
