  • Confused between P220, Fazer Or R15

    Hi fellow bhpian's,
I am totally confused between Fazer & P220, as i need to finance bike i have the amount to make downpayment for 220 or Fazer but for R15 i need to raise some more money, it will take 4-6 months. My job is touring job i almost drive on an average of 60-70 Kms daily mileage no issue. What you people suggest should i wait for R15 or go buy fazer or 220... i have also heard that 220 vibrates a lot & Fazer is only good for looks. totally confused, plz help me out & also tell what will b the maintainence expenditure of 220 it is on expensive side like Karizma?..Is there any upgrade coming in R15...Is 220 is worth buying?

oh boy..you are one confused guy

r15: awesome track tool, good mileage, not well suited for people above 5'10 or 6 max,not considered as a touring machine cause of its racy posture,a little bit difficult for city traffic

220: awesome power, headlights are damn good for touring, good mileage(depends on how you ride, rip it get 35,decent ride expect 45),very scary to corner it,undependable bajaj parts (jai warranty),expect to spend most time in SVC,very good for touring and also for traffic and dead cheap parts.

fazer: thought ad shows its for touring, its not.(personal opinion)..you get 35 no matter how you ride after a period of time, its a looker, good city (street bike:enough torque to get ahead of all 150s),the age old "rim not good, getting bent" problem.

you have to decide on what you want.power, looks, mileage etc...if you need a bike for touring purposes and also good city rides,i would advice 220.but it costs you double the maintenance and your time to look after it.but the output which you get is awesome and totally worth it...on the other hand if its cornering and race track experience and less maintenance with Fi tech,r15 is the king.just for city purposes take fazer

about the vibrations, you just need to stick up a dual sided tape hear and there inside the fairing and its all reduced to a bare minimum..note that i did not say vibes will be of zero tolerance...i completed 20k kms and so far my changed parts were:

      1)left side switch assemble(backlight gone kaput)--warranty
      2)front brake switch---paid 30/-
      3)rear disc pads twice---paid 140 i guess
4)at 10k you need to change your rear drum rubber and chain link --- (10+80)
5)the usual motul oil change at every 5k kms
      6)new airfilter at 10k kms --- 100/-
7)some rubber component on the right side engine cause of continuous ripping for 7 hours---30/-

right now these are the things i need to check for my service:
1)headlight cracked cause of high beam--warranty
      2)misfiring
      3)fuel sensor gone kaput----warranty

these are my probs...hope you got an idea about p220 npw..lolz

          As u already know that pulsar-135 is a 4-valve experiment from Bajaj & its a HIT !!!

If u can hold on for say a month or two, u will find new cats coming out from hiding or else p220 wud be the bike to go for, even if the competition level rises say after 6-8 months, u will still have a bike that produces 21ps of raw power @ 10k rpm & SHEER Feeling of a big bike. U'r riding style & vision will never be the same again once u rides 220-F.

              Hi

Of all the bikes that you have mentioned in my personal opinion, the 220 makes a good buy.
Yes it does vibrate a bit and also there might be a few issues that you may have to face but then again all these are things that we can live with.
So 220 suites your requirement better than the other 2 bikes.

why arent you considering HH ZMA R ?? the good old one when touring comes into action.

in between P220 & Fazer .... my vote will go to P220 anyday.... it will for sure bring a smile to your face while riding.... and will overcome the frustrations which you will face @ bajaj Svc.

you are going to buy a premium segment bike [indian market] .... so choose wisely ...

U can rule fazer out of the list completely.I have had it with me for some time and its definitely not a tourer and you will always crave for more power when overtaking trucks in highway.

R15 is a great choice if you are ok with the price tag. Its got extremely good handling and is pure riding pleasure. Overtaking trucks wont be as easy as on a P220 though. If you plan to ride on highways a lot then its not a good choice.

My choice will be Pulsar 220. Its got plenty of torque, You can overtake almost anything on road without downshifting. 55w projector beam is great for touring. Great riding position and its got that big bike feel.
Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

                    Leave Fazer...!

What vibrations are you talking about in 220?
If you are talking about engine harshness, then yes 220s engine is on the harsher side compared to R15 and even Bajaj's own Pulsar 150 and 180. BUT its not something you should base your decision.
To some, it feels more of a power surge rather than 'harshness'.

Maintenance of P220 is cheap as with almost all Pulsars but you might be visiting the SVC more often than others

I only talked about Pulsar as thats the bike I feel is tailor made for your current requirements.

Im still in confusion. From R15 m backing out as my job is Marketing job i spend my whole day on bike. 220 I tried to convince myself a lot but the look of 220 fairing turn me down...another issue is i testdrove this the vibration & lack of confidence on this bike is the main issue...as i am fron himachal n myjob is in chandigar, so at my place there is no straight roads only hills.
I need some advice from all of you..

Is Fazer is more stable as compared to 220?
                        Cornering ability Fazer or 220?
Suitable to pocket(not mileage wise but maintenance point of view)?
Ride Quality Fazer or 220 which one is better?
Which bike will give Comfortable ride as i ride 70 - 100 mostly in the city or in surrounding areas?....

Hey dude, have you checked the Apache RTR 180, one excellent machine its a bike which is really a prowess, better than fazer and costing is similiar and a excellent machine keeping the maintenance cost and all in mind.

Its a mini pocket main rocket bike with a decent mileage and you can fit the osram nightbreaker and the braking is awesome.

Go for P-220......R15 is not for commuting
220 has lots of torque which is needed in hills..
                              so for Pulsar-220..
