Oh yeaaahhh!!!!! The super***** is here,

"The 2004 R1 not only looks good, but it also makes its rider look good."

    "Powering this good-looking machine is a liquid-cooled 998cc, 20-valve, in-line four-cylinder motor that produces 180 claimed horsepower power at 12,500 rpm."

    "At $10,599 the 2004 Yamaha R1 costs the same as a GSX-R 1000 and is $400 less than the ZX-10R. "

The R1 was born to be No.1.i loved the busa for it's speed and its size.but i guess it won't b tat good when it comes to cornering.it's built 4 straight line speeds.so when it comes to cornering is when the R1 comes into the picture.and according to me riding a bike is all about cornering.and the new R1 will take on the busa anytime.coz now its got much more power then the busa, and its much lighter then he busa.I just wished i could be 1 of the prowed owners of the new R1.

i have to be frank here guys but reading ALL the tests i am HUGELY disappointed.....i expected it to be on top of competition if NOT cream them......
"This was the most difficult part of the track for me, and no matter how far to the right I got before turning in, I still ended up running wide every time. I am not sure if it because the last bike I track tested was the GSX-R600, or because the new R1 has a slightly longer wheelbase than the Kawasaki ZX-10R. But, it seemed to me that the new ZX turns in quicker in the tight stuff, and I had to get a bit physical transitioning the Yamaha from hard left-to-right."

so guys with ALL the 2004 litre-class models have been reviewed........here goes: which is the best litre-class bike??

                      2004 Gixxer
                      2004 ZX-10R
2004 YZF-R1 (or R!, like motorcycle-usa.com thought it should be)
                      2004 CBR 1000RR
                      2004 RSV-1000R
                      - did i miss anything?

                        i dont think so.....
"Yamaha men say that number goes up to 180 hp with the assistance of ram-air induction at high speeds, something completely believable on this missile; one journo on our ride said he saw 186 mph on the speedo and it was still pulling. It's actually geared to top out at 197 mph (!) at its 13,750 redline if the motor could push through the wall of air at that speed."

did u guys read this bit :

Hence, this is the first R1 to receive a ram-air system and a close-ratio gearbox that gives
a first-gear top speed of nearly 100 mph!

                            WOW !
