Is this a good deal for a 4 year old Yamaha Libero G5. I will also have to factor another 1500 to 2000 that I may have to shell out in terms of servicing, tune up, replacing seals etc., since the bike hasn't been used much in the past 2 yrs. Fellow xbhpers please advise, looking to buy in the next couple of days.

Hello, Rohit from BLR and buying a used bike
Hi, this is Rohit from Bangalore. I am 30 and I have never ridden a geared bike, there I have got it off my chest. I have a short commute to work and am looking to buy a used commuter bike in the 100/110 cc range. Don't want to buy another automatic scooter. I am pursuing a sale of a 2006 Yamaha Libero G5. The bike was apparently used for 2 yrs only and has close to 20k kms on it, after that owner moved to US and it was just started or used for short commutes since it is with an older relative. I haven't seen the bike physically yet, but owner intially quoted 30k and has come down to 25k as final take it or leave it price.

Hello sir
,
25k is pretty good deal for a 4yr old libero. 20k kms means the engine should probably be in a good condition. If the bike has been running continously then no problem. But if it has stood idle in some place for more than a month or two then check for rusted spots. Do drive the bike for atleast a km through smooth and rough roads. Then you'll know what is what. Observe carefully for any rattling noise. I have suggested things upto my knowledge. I guess our friends here will be able to guide you better than me. I am only 18. LOL!!Tour De Thekkady

Hey, thanks for the quick reply, age has nothing to do with knowledge, you could be 30 and still not know anything about bikes, example: meOriginally posted by harishkumarko View PostHello sir
