This is Unbelievable.

I have Classic CBZ 2001 model & I got the Chain sprocket in a jiffy in Bangalore no need of waiting etc.. Hero Honda has good reputation of providing spare parts for a long time even after the bike is discontinued & a good answer is HH CBZ Classic, Ambition etc.

Although in some cases you would need to wait for a max of a week to 10 days when the spare is unavailable at your local city & had to be ordered to get from their Gurgoan plant.

I agree to you Abhilasha. I have lived in Bangalore for almost 11 yrs and i have never experienced these problems. I assume this is a characteristic in the eastern parts of india. Others can correct me.

this is an issue. i took up an initiative and invited others to start the same along these lines. Please start a similar thread as to the one im linking you to. Get the word out, and when there will be enough feedback for everyone to see, im sure the company people are bound to see it and follow it up.

Thanks JD666. Lets see if others have also faced a similar problem like this. Today i went and met the regional sales manager of HH East region and couldnt find a convincing explanation behind the problem. After all what he could have done. He at least agreed that consumers are facing scarcity of HH parts in Kolkata. Thats all.

Availability of parts has become such a pain that its now becoming that v hav to wait for months...

I too had to change the disc pads.

Asked the dealer they say "It'll take time sir, Please give me your contact number. As soon as the part reaches us i'll contact you sir"...

Inquired the cost they says is 2300 bucks.. Presently a reduced version has been launched costing 1020 bucks.. This new part also took time so went and bought an RTR disc pads for 350. and its running pretty well. covered 5000kms on the new RTR pads.

Sorry to note this.. I had recently done an engine rebuild for my KB 100 of 1987 make in CHENNAI.Though the parts took three full days to get I still managed it. I think instead of going to the ASS you can try with some reputed local Service Engineers(Mechanics) who knows a lot more than these authorized money grabbers......Bosch India had started manufacturing Brake components for 4 wheelers and 2 Wheelers. Kalyani Brake components are also good.You may get a better response from them for your Brake pad requirements. Hope this helps.

xBhp member praveenmemala will have a lot to say about this.
He has been almost tortured with the lack of spares availability for his ZMR.be it from the weight balancer to the fairing!
and contacting the higher officials at HH has been close to useless for him.All he gets is a promise that they will get it in few days which keeps on increasing

Instead of going to the A.s.s, go to any TVS SS and get the RTR's Disc pad(Rs 333). they are a direct fit and approach any ROLON dealer for the Chain sprocket kit. Go to their Website and find the distributor in your city.
Hero honda service is good for nothing, atleast in Delhi

its the same in pune.. however i have observed, that for bike models older than 1.5 years, the parts are readily available but for new bikes, its a huge problem. but for the zma, its a huge problem even here.

I noticed this thread bit late. I was thinking for a week or more to start a thread on behalf of my problems. Thanks to ranjithmn for helping in noticing the thread.

I am newbie to HH. But always admired to them for their great market in India and thought that they re too good to have such a great market. And as I have seen thousands of HH customers in the mid range (Splendr, Passion, CD's). They're always happy due to the less maintanance and good mileage and so called factors. I was using Yamaha in early days and changed to Bajaj. When I had started serious biking I was using Bajaj and I was terribly unhappy about Bajaj's quality. I wanted more money to maintain the bike. I was surprised by seeing those HH guys's happy face then. So when i wanted an upgrade I decided to go for Karizma as I am an excessive tourer. And it was a successful bike also. Then itself I heard from some people that "I am waiting for spares" and the like. But I did not consider it as a matter, and thought that they re not common at all.

So I went to HH and booked an ZMR other than R due to the FI upgrade mainly. I got my bike on May 31st... Done my 2 services within two weeks. There were some problems I faced at that time.
1. Heating
2. Smoke from engine
2nd problem eventually disappeared at the time 2nd service. But 1st problem persisted. The heat was getting transfered to the tank after a ride of even 25 kms. I complainted to it to SVC work supervisors........they told me, there is nothing unusual.

1.On 19 th of June 2010 I had a slip at a corner while I was in a long trip. I got some scratches on my right upper fairing, dent on weight balancer bolt and heavy scratches on silencer guard. So I went to SVS and met the service manager there and I had shown him the bike. He came with me to the spare section and they told that the Fairing is available and Wiegh balancer s out of stock and they offered that they ll book it and ll call me once the spares comes. Beleive me, I am writting this on 10th Septemebr 2010 and even after 2 months and 20 days there is no news about these spares till this minute.

2. For my ill-luck, a cat went crazy on road and hit my left lower fairing on 18th August 2010.(poor cat, how could it know HH!!!!!!!!!!??????). I was waiting for a technical checkup of my bike's engine at that time after a gameplay with Delhi HH as I was pretty dissatisfied with the performance of my service Centre (Ie. my engine became harsh and the heating problems). The result was
a. left lower fairing fully broken
b. the connection between left and right lower fairing broken. ie. right
lower fairing is also broken

c. Left upper fairing's screwing portions damaged.
So in result of the both incidents stated above the list of spares I needed just got big like below.
1. Fairing, in full
2. Front left indicator
3. Weight balancer
4. Silencer Guard
Called Service manager on 20th and informed the matter and requested the spares. He offered me that he will book everything in URGENT and ll make the spares availbale within 1 week. And he told me to mail the photos. I mailed it and called him, he told me to wait for one week. And I called him on 26th August and found that nothing +ve is there. Again called him on 28th, and he told me to send a mail to HH, Delhi for their intervention. I sent a mail to N Ganesh and posted the query in their website too. The busy people left me a mail on 2nd sep

But there was no information till 4th of September. I wanted just a status info. But I got nothing. So I wrote to N Ganesh on 4th itself

Ganesh did nt left a message. But the regional service manager called me and informed me that I have to wait for another 10 days for the spare. And I am again in the waiting period...........
I dont know whether something ll happen on or before 14th of this month. But I have prepared myself a mail to Anil Dua, Senior Vice President, Sales, HH which I ll mail today or tomoorow even if I get the spares. I want to inform him about my displeasure like many in the premium customer segment.

I bought this bike to make excessive tours. And already they have put my bike in garage for 21 days. A great loss for me means soemthing different. I have finished my 10500 kms in 78 days and the bike is in garage. I think it's unfare and ****ing dealing from their side.............

@abhilashabhi12: HH may be good for CBZ.........but never for Karizma, whether its R or ZMR.

I met a guy with R yesterday and found he has no weight balancer in the right side. He told me that he is in the 15 days delay for the last 3 months............

I think a soildarity among those with the same prob needed here in XBHP........and I ll mail this thread's link to every HH officials I know. It may workout............

these bast@#D$ dont reply to any mail that you send.. i was having an issue with the disc pad getting continuously hot even i did not use the brake.. a burning smell used to come.. sent -6 mails to the zonal sales executive, the showroom head and all but no response whatsoever..

then finally, a friend of mine sugested that i claim the disc assembly under accident and then he got it replaced as an accident and since then the brake works fine..

damn these hh guys.. the bikes are awesome but the spares and all are pathetic

Does the first prob still persist???

If it does then check the engine oil level and maintain it. Else check the clutch settings.

YATISHANKAR, yes it is now a problem area for HH in Kolkata.
But I have good relation with SVC and hence face a lesser problem.

Tomorrow I will be in the SVC around 9:00 in the morning.
