  • Stolen CBR600RR in Hyderabad! Please help!

    Dear Friends,

    Bike Details: 2008 Honda CBR600RR
    Color: White/black/blue Konica minolta edition
Registration number: MH 06 AT 2803
    Location: Hyderabad

I am posting this thread on behalf of my friend (Harish) in Hyderabad. His 2008 december model, Honda CBR600RR was stolen last week. According to my friend, this is one of the two bikes in the hyderabad area.

Two guyz posed as prospective buyers and finalized the sale for 6.1 lakhs. They gave a demand draft (DD) for 1.1 Lakhs as advance and managed to sign a small transfer of ownership on a stamp paper stating that the remaining amount of 5 lakhs will be given in exchange for the bike.

A week later, they gave my friend two cheques for 2.5 lakhs each. After receiving the cheques, my friend handed over the bikes to the buyer. The buyer's name was Owais Saair Hussein (who also gave photocopies of his driver's license).

To my friend's surprise, the cheques had been given a stop payment and that is when my friend realized this was a planned scam. I understand that it was my friends fault to begin with, as he should not have given bike until the cheques got encashed in his account. However, when he tried to call them back, they said they would get back to him and never called him back again.

My friend has registered an FIR with the police. If anyone spots this bike please inform me or my friend Harish directly at 9866331068.

I have attached a pic of the motorcycle, and the guy sitting on the bike is the ACTUAL thief (Owais Saair Hussein) who stole the bike. If you guys or any of your friends happen to come across this bike, please inform your local police station.

Please help out guys. My friend is devestated as such, losing his precious machine.

Some questions that came to my mind:

          1) They did give you cheques and issued a stop payment on it. Which means the account holder and his/her details should be easily traceable. Have you done this?
          2) Did you try to contact them over the phone?
          3) Did you go to the address listed in the person's licence?
          4) What was the timeline, from the day that the price was finalised and today?

All said and done, pretty messed up.

you have the pics and you can find out the address through the bank right...the police can easily find him and would be a lot easier if he has any other criminal history.dont worry it will be found dude...

You can definitely trace back the guy with A/C details, PROVIDED, the cheque itself was not a stolen instrument!!!

Since you've the pic, I'm certain your friend will get back the motorcycle.

This is really a bad news.

I think the A/C no. should be correct because they stopped the payment. If it wasn't the thief's A/C he wouldn't have been able to do that.

Either the thief is stupid or genius. Stupid because if he is not planning to leave India, he will surely be caught. But if he is planning to leave India, you will have hell of a time tracing this dude down. Sorry for your friends lose mate.

And bouncing a cheque intentionally is any way an offence.. so if you go with a FIR, the bank will help you with it.

PS: which bank cheque was it...

@all guys: thanks for your concern and good suggestions. It's a pain that only a fellow harcore biker could feel. You have all posted good pointers and asked some questions. I am currently away from my computer and my phone won't let me use the multiple quoting ability. I will reply to ur questions one by one first thing in the morning.

                              Cheers guyz.
