  • Need to buy Yamaha RX 135

    Hey all..
I am looking for a good RX 135 bike since past few months , and couldn't find a good one till now..
I have few doubts , and hope you folks can spare a moment to answer them:

1 . Where can I find a good dealer on whom I can trust to buy the bike in Bangalore? I have seen many second hand dealers in Lalbagh area. I am not sure how good they are !
    2. My idea is to buy 'Any' RX 135 , and re-build with new important parts , along with paint. What do you suggest on this ?
    3. My total budget of Rs.30K , is sufficient to buy and re-build the bike ?
    4. Also need pointers for a good mechanic to work on RX 135s in Bangalore.

for 30k u will get a decent bike.
for the mods set aside another 15k atleast.
        few prices
front disc brake set up - 6k
        paint and chrome - 5-6k

apart from this if you need porting pipe etc the prices will cary from 10-15k
        digital CDI - 4k

If you are planning to get the bike ported or have a disc brake and all. you might as well look out for one tht already has all this.

I was asking one of my friend for 35k for my bike with disc brake, new tyres, 1yr old paint, 2nd OS barrel he was like no tht is very high price,

He went ahead and bought a bike for 25k. CAn you estimate how much he ended up spending?

40k overall by the time the bike was finished. Tht too with a tiwan barrel that is there in the market now.

So you need to decide what you need and then buy tht. If you are planning to buy a stock bike and keep it stock then its ok.
If you are planning to mod it you might as well buy one tht has been modded and save money and atleast 1 month time.

whoa ! Thanks a lot Jagadeesh..
Well , I am looking for a bike that can:
          * have good pick up
          * Can touch 110 Kmph
          * Give a decent mileage of arnd 35 kmpl
          * which can drive me steadily for as long as 200 Km at a stretch !

Painting stuff - yeah .. I am a fan of a maroon colored RX .I definitely need it.
I do not have much knowledge on the porting pipes or CDI
That is why I am in search of a good mechanic in bangalore who would guide thru the add-ons / spares that need or need not be stuffed in its body

Not sure if the stock bike fits my requirements , if not , i will wait for mods

First two points are ok. Please do not have much expectation on FE from a performance bike.

@alavilli - What's the purpose of buying RX135? Why not ZMR? Why not Shogun? Why not FZ?

Good; you'll get these also at free of cost, so be prepared for it...
                      - easy unavailability of spares
                      - con mechs (unless someone for xBhp helps you )

If you're new to RX, better stay off from it; trust me, I'm saying this out of my experience. If you know about the mechanics (not basics) of RX(Shogun/Shaolin/Samurai for that matter), then GO FOR IT & you'll enjoy every moment riding it. Otherwise, the mechs will enjoy cashing on you.

Hmm I have a RX 135 4 speed 2000 Model. Bike is in bangalore. Just a month back I installed a new Bore, piston etc.(Very difficult to find a good Bore). Now nothing to worry about the engine.

The Cost was around 6k.But no Paint job still old original paint. Bike looks a bit old.I don't have any intention to sell it. But if I get a good price I am thinking to sell it.

Upto you; I thought of warning a fellow biker on the pains we're undergoing. Anyway, welcome to the club.

Do not go for RXZ even if you're getting free of cost as the parts are even rare obtaining. Go for any 4S or 5S. Take lot of time to triple verify the authenticity of the condition on the cylinder & head. Though you may find people who're selling them, prepare to pay a nice premium; actually a bomb.
