  • Honda 800cc

    Hello Guys!!

I was thinking of buying a Honda 800cc V-4. I wanted to know if its a good choice to buy. Also what other good options do i have for it? Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki?

Also, I was offered another bike Honda 600cc from someone who has not been in India for the past 5 years. So, the bike has not been started for the past 5 years. What would have to be done to start the bike and make it rideable?

If i buy one of the two bikes, does anyone know a garage in pune/mumbai who is a good mechanic in these bikes and also not a cheater. The mechanic should also be cheap as in not implementing a lot of bill for small works...

One of my other concerns would be the fuel for the bike. I believe there are only two fuelling stations selling fuel for superbikes, i would like to know if there are more in Pune.

A little advice would be much helpful.

    Thank You.

The 800cc v4 would be the honda vfr a very well reputed sports touring machine. The 600cc honda would at best be a 2003 cbr600rr or a cbr600f4i, both really great supersports bikes, although if I were you I'd want the vfr just coz the 600 hasnt been run in soo long.

Looks at your requirements, do you want to tour or do you want a track 600?
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

I think you should have a word with a mechanic for getting a sleeping bike up and running after 5 years...
dont worry about fuel... I have been running fireblade with extra premium without much problem.
May the torque be with you..

So, fueling is not a question now. The only two things are 1) mechanic and 2)the cost of running a 5yr standing bike....

Regarding the mechanic, there are a few around Pune. There is Fareez in Salunkhe Vihar, Anwar on SB road & the best (& probably most reliable) is the guy off MG road, don't remember the name, I think it is Dream Bikes. You can visit the mechs & ask them regarding the cost involved.
