    Infy Chandigarh rides again

The biggest question one asks to Himself while planning a group ride is: Which place can we take the group to so that we can bring all of them back in one piece and satiate our hunger for adventurous riding too?
The same question was pondering in our minds since the idea of another mega-ride of BikerZone came into picture. The previous BikerZone mega ride was a success with beautiful roads, Monsoon and a wonderful host at the Hotel Mamleshwar, Chindi. However this also raised the expectations of the people who wanted to participate in this ride. We thought of many options but none seemed promising. At last, we decided Chakrata as our destination.

    Day 1:

    The Line up before start:

This time we had 21 riders accompanying us for the ride and it was again the usual mix of experienced and Novice riders. With such a large group we started off one after the other at 5 A.M. sharp from Panchkula and headed towards Nahan, where we had scheduled our first stop. We were expecting dense fog and spine chilling wind on our way but were left disappointed by the fog. Chillness however seemed to have taken it to heart and was as cold as ever could be and froze our hands to the core. After an hour break at a Dhaba before Kala amb, we started again at 7 towards Nahan and then to Paonta Sahib.

At Paonta sahib we waited for 2 other riders Vaibhav (KurtRules) and Gaurav (TourerSince) who were scheduled to join us from here on. Its always a pleasure to have Kurt as a ride partner and Gaurav in itself is a seasoned rider which added to our comfort of handling such a large group.

    The Lineup at Paonta Sahib:

    Waiting for Other Riders:

    On the way to Chakrata:

It was a plain and a boring ride till now and so we decided to add a bit spice to it. What followed was something which every rider will cherish and remember.

The roads till Deoban are not in a good shape and many novice riders will fear going that way and so we asked the rookies about their thoughts and prompt came the reply: You guys will be there naa?

        Few pics enroute:

It took us around an hour to open the tyre, fit a tube and fit it back with the motorcycle (5 IT Engineers were trying their hand at it for first time )

In the meanwhile the rest of the group visited the FRH, clicked pics and had fun.

After they were back, we headed back to Chakrata from where we will be heading towards our accommodation for the night.

The sun started setting in and the cool breeze got chilly which only posed more problems for not only the first timers but for other experienced too. We reached back to Chakrata at around 4 P.M and were hungry as whatever hungriest beast you can think of. What followed was a nightmare for a dhaba wallah where we decided to satiate our hunger at.

        The Dhaba (a bit shaken):

But the road to Virat Khai is no easy deal too. With sun going down, it was getting difficult for most of the riders to ride on the road.

        Sunset on the way:

        The Ice sheet:

All the riders helped each other to cross that sheet and after that, they were strictly instructed not to ride at more than 15 KMpH of speed and Archit volunteered to be the lead this time.

We took a narrow and steep road to reach the camping area, where we will be sleeping for the night. It had tents and bathrooms and a dining area with a place to have bon fire and a Volley ball net.
But nothing interested us more than the Bon fire which was put in place and we headed straight to it. Over there, we had a cup of nice and hot tea along with a few snacks.

        The Bon Fire:

        The Dining Area:

        The Room for the Night:

Good Night Viraat Khai, Good Night BikerZone...

                          Few more pics:

At around Kala amb, we decided to have a lunch break and to get rid of mayhem at the poor dhaba waala again, we requested them to eat in a group of six. It took an hour for the dhaba waala to feed 18 hungry riders. After the meal, we all started again and the next stop was decided as Chandigarh.
