  • [Photo Feature]: My 240cc karizma R with Preformance modifications

    My Karizma R(Rocket)

Hi all, this is Vineeth here, one among you Bikers. Few days back my steed Karizma "R" had undergone some performance modifications(Joel'ed); in other words is the reason why I am here.

@moderators- please dont merge this thread with Karizma r ownership thread

Years back, I was a happy rider. My zma surrendered to all my pranks the machine was doing justice in every corner but when days passed by, I was kind of losing interest in my bike I was bored with its performane. As I had no option, I continued using it even though I was not so happy with it.

After my graduation I left to my native (Kerala) and was seriously thinking about performance modifications, met a lot of mechanics But nothing happened. My place wasn't good enough for these things. It was just a hood which was only meant for old s****y politics (just my opinion, no offense). Same time I got to know about xbhp which helped me to vast my knowledge about upgrading my vehicle and I continued researching on unleashed performance.

Here I learned a lot about bikers rather than just bikes; i never had a thought of having a customized look on my vehicle. Bike was pretty neat when it comes to look and all my focus was on Performance. I came across many hard core bikers in xbhp and later, I got to know about a magician called "Joel Joseph" And trust me, I never dreamt in my life that I would come across with someone who made the fastest
    Karizma
,RTR,R15...... something made me to have a check on and it was a dream come true day when i knew that it was something real more than of words
All these brought me back to the place where I was once. The trip "Back to Bangalore" blessed me with my first employment in hand; soon I started saving.those days were harder But I knew that some other day these tough times will return me something favorable.Same time I met Joel and we fixed this small project. My parents were not against these mods, but they were totally disappointed with my decision of investing my first month salary in to this. They were like spend it for charity, temple etc. Same time Joel was busy with his racing days thus the project got postpone to next month.

At last everything became crystal clear and the project started. I had to say "Sayonara" to my stock vehicle being left in Joel's garage .Those were the first days in my life when I really missed my bike. it was my weakness. I was a kind of a person who never used to leave my vehicle with anyone. But you know, sometimes we got no options in life. Just like you all, I had a strong emotional attachment with my steed. I am not a kind of person who always wanted to ride the bike, but it was so lucky for me, so I never used to travel without my bike, Like I said, those three days in hell....But I was peaceful too, on the other hand my vehicle was with someone whom I could really trust.

After a heavy push'n'pull, it was the "THE DAY" when the project was completed. Me and my friend headed to his garage, reached there and I did a test ride, omg!!! Here am running out of words. am realizing the fact that all the feelings cannot be expressed by words...
Next day before the sunrise packed my backpack and left to my native. Fueled the bike and said "Sayonara" to Bangalore, but guys that was the worst journey I ever had. Let me explain, as prescribed by the Doctor, I was forced to ride under strict running-in, once I entered Bangalore-Mysore stretch my mind started fluctuating, my torque monster was giving me a loud and i wanted to rip badly. I was loosing my patience but somehow I controlled my urge and continued to ride. am not that expert to explain about the performance but i can say that if someone beat me with a p220, that's truly because of his abilities. After reaching my native I had my first oil change and ever since Nirvaaanaaaa.

    A Small Story

Met a guy in HH SVC with a zma so called Modified, his steed was euipped with a loat of perFUMance gooddies including NGK plug, Flat rear tyre, FFE, K&n, Clipon's Step seats etc and He was proudly Explaining about is bikes Prefomance, we had small talk and He was very happy to engage in a Drag with me. Thus we left to an emty stretch and then guss what..... he was like compleatly and without a single word he left the scene.
Yes now i know my bikes potential and i don't wanna spoil myself and my wondwefull machiene by engaging Dangerous street racing. as this is just an entry leavel perfomance modes there is a lot of things comming up so guys watch out!!

    WHAT MODIFICATION

My bike is equipped with Joel's custom 240 cc setup
    Cubic Capacity. : 240cc
An exhaust is on its way , i'll be getting one by next week.

Fuel efficiency. : worst 38 and a best 47km/litter of unleaded fuel
(bike returned this figure with a rider weighing 75 kg
+ full saddle of 30 kg approx)

Top speed . : not yet tested but i can cross 130 very easly( my sprocket
and rear tyre need a replace soon as they are compleatly worn out)

Thanks a lot xbhp, without which all these wouldn't have happened
@Joel- Million thanks to you brother and my hearty congratulation for your great success. I strongly believe that whatever happened till date is just a beginning and the storm is on its way....

    cheers

I own zma r which clocked 27k kms in 2 years. can u tell me how's the performance of your bike now. I am tourer so wanted a good fuel efficiency(currently getting 30kmpl). Can u able to cruze your bike on 120-130? If I don't go for exhaust then it will effect the performance?

Hi, bike's performance has increased a lot. After mods my mileage never dropped bellow 37(this figure was shown after hard ripping(125 +) from Kerala to Bangalore). The maximum mileage attained was 49.6kpl provided that this was almost perfect mileage test. my bike was delivering a worst 20kpl and best 33kpl before mods. Then when it comes to performance, as you know a stock zma can never touch a r15 or p220 in terms of performance but from my experience i can say that now i can easily keep up with these bikes. Am not saying that i can out run them in high speed with the current setup but i believe with an exhaust and different final gear ratio, everything is possible. My 0-90 is better than the fastest indian and am not expecting anything more with a stock sprockets. An exhaust can make "solid change" in performance. Am yet to get one. Will post a better review after fixing exhaust and sprockets. Thanks

Are you planning to fix bigger sprocket or stock one?

You also said you will be changing exhaust, does that mean you will change complete assembly or just some internal mods to existing exhaust?
I kind of like existing exhaust looks.

Looking forward to your exhaust review.
Also, video you shared is not opening, says "Removed by user"

If possible, put some info about your current headlight mods. They are superb!

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

@zmaniac- Bro no more stock sprockets. Its a different set with different pitch, links etc. Even the ration is different. The exhaust am refering is nothig else other than Joel's tuned free flow exhaust. Yes i do like the stock exhaust its different from other bikes but mine is kinda rested inside and producing lot of niggling noise. Need a replace soon. So thought of going for ffe. I've that video with me. Will upload it later. I don't know why Joel removed that video. There are discussions happening about light mods in let there be light thread. Will post here after the final touch up . Thanks for your words.
