  • A long lasting bike within 1 lac rupees.

    Hi,

    I'm a 17.3 year old doing my 12th, 5" 7' and growing, 50Kg and increasing.

    I need a bike which has:-

    * Awesome looks (can compromise a little bit)
    * Good Mileage (No compromise, I'm a student and i'm a youngster! Roam alot but no income so anything around or above 50 KMPL will do)
    * Good Power ( No compromise Don't want to ride a cycle in the name of bike)
    * Digital Console (No compromise)
    * Build Quality (No Compromise)
    * Reliability and Maintenance (No compromise, i'm gonna use this bike atleast till i get my job)
    * Should be worth every penny (No compromise, Middle class family works hard and sacrifices many things to earn a bike worth money)

    And I've been possessed by the Unicorn Dazzler (almost finalized in my heart, but brain is not totally convinced) and i liked Karizma R also. Anyways i would like to take your views, Is there any bike that will satisfy me in the Horizon of 6 months?

    Please help!!!

          both bikes you quoted are of two different leagues. dazzler will give you 50 + for sure, but the karizma R will give arnd 35-43 kmpl.

          so if you want power then try karizma R or ZMR (if you wish PGFI, rear disc + other goodies) or if you want a normal bike with decent looks and mileage then dazzler is fine choice narrowed by you.

          since both are honda's they wont have much issues.

            Nothing from Bajaj. Go for HONDA. Unicorn dazzler surely looks much better than any other 150 cc bike. Being Honda, you can trust on it's reliability blindfolded. A real stress free engine.

              Dazzler and Karizma both have Honda engine. Dazzler is 150cc and Karizma is 225 cc , so karizma's mileage definitely will be less as compared to Dazzler.

              Both bikes are good in terms of reliability, and quality wise its honda product, so Quality is always good.

              if you wanna to go for 150 CC go for Dazzler my opinion over other 150 cc segments bike, its really a worth bike.
              Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

                It is claimed that Karizma R has 45KMPL that's why i considered it. But then it doesn't have a crash guard neither can it be mounted with one, so even a minor fall can prove to be costly.

                  Yeah i'll get a Learner's license soon as i turn 17.6.

                  I have been riding a 2 wheeler since 6 years now. And 8 months ago i used a Discover 135 for 4-5 months (800Km on the Odo), I perfected riding a geared vehicle on it, I have rode it everywhere in my City. Now that's about me

                  My peers in school (PUC) without even having a license, own and ride ZMRs, Apaches, Pulsars including 220, R15. Girls too own and ride scooterettes (almost any scooterette, just name it). And they do since 11th, so i'm feeling left out , i'm gonna pursue my mom to buy me a bike after 12th

                    Yeah, but my friends keep teasing me for liking that bike. They call it "Fussu", because of the sound it makes (I love it's sound though). And say it won't be a head turner, it won't distinguish me from others on the road and that one can't make out differences between Twister and Dazzler.

                      SZ-R doesn't have a digital console and being a 150cc, does just 12bhp (Stunner does equal, P135 does more). I had considered that one too and Yamaha Service. Moreover the commuters from Yamaha are very temporary, they shut production after 2 years and then no relationship between costumer and the company (for example Libero)

                        Yeah agreed, but the SZ series is here to stay, they wont go down so soon.

                        Why not go for a P220S or a 220?
                        What you want is a 'gadgetry loaded stylish looking bike with good power and good mileage' thats like wanting a cake, not eating it but yet wanting to taste it

                        The Stunner has some x months waiting AFAIK.
                        The P135 looks small in comparison with the SZ

                        Why not go for the tried and tested P150 then?

                          bikes like r15, karizma R, Karizma ZMR doesn't have crash guards, yet they are selling.

                          buy yes the absence of crash guard is a concern to many.

                          an after market crash guard can be fitted to a karizma R.

                            Yes crash guard is a concern to me. Safety better than cure. It's not only about the bike, It's about my personal safety too, think about it, god forbid if it crashes and in the absence of a crashguard the 150Kg monster will land on my limb. What will happen?

                            I was told Karizma R can't be fitted with a Crash guard.

                            Even Unicorn Dazzler comes without a crashguard but then Honda gives you option to fit it with a crashguard for 500 rupees extra.

                              Well, I want a bike that's complete and won't get obsolete and which is an all-rounder The only gadgetry i've desired is the Digital console, the information it offers is just priceless! Personally, i've never been a fan of Pulsar as a bike. But as a brand and the revolution it created in India, i have deep respect for it. I've heard too much bad about Pulsar here in xbhp itself from those who already own it and from my acquaintances regarding it's engine, build quality etc. etc.. etc... And then i've heard rumors that Bajaj will phase out the current Pulsars and replace them with new 4V pulsars soon. So i don't want to buy a bike that'll get phased out and which is too common.
