  • How to deal with Bike Vandalism?

Well, I own a Yamaha R15 and I am sick of some jerks in my college who have been repeatedly fiddling with my bike and the thing is that I dont know whose responsible for it

Someone ripped off my rear indicator some 1 month back and it costed me 181Rs(including labour charges).

After 1 month or so again the indicator was twisted and broken. I dont know who is doing this. Otherwise i would have murdered him

Whatever it is my main question is How to deal with Bike Vandalism.

Its easy for anyone to make a Busa look into a choosa in few minutes by scratching it badly or tearing the seat blah blah...

I know many will advice to go for Anti Theft Alarms but are they worth? Wont they drain out the battery...

I am still hunting for the guy who raped my bike....till then I would like to know your views

I have been having problems with people messing up with my handle bar. Twice my handle bar was bent and thought I have a hint who did it I did not catch them in action.

I am in the same conundrum as you and wanted to know if anti-theft locks work?

When my bike was new, my petrol would get stolen and again I had a hint on who was doing it. So complained to his dad and things were taken care of! lol

Get a security alarm - XENA Security Locks, Alarms & Accessories for Motorcycles, Scooters and ATVs

Even if you're away from it, it shouts in 120db so that atleast it captures the attention of other people.

But again, if someone blows hard on indicators & run away, there's no one to hold responsiblity. Best is you need to talk to college management, which I'm sure will not listen, & find out some safe spot for parking or else choose to travel by college bus.

          This might help. Covers

The ends of the cover can be locked to the wheels ensuring no one can lift the cover and tamper with the bike. Using it with an alarm lock is added protection. Use the Xena as suggested. It is a very good product and has its own battery source (not connected to the bike's battery).

I also hate it when people fiddle with my bike (even with my fiero). Some people have no respect for others property.

my old CBZ classic (now sold) two years ago, one day when parked in my office parking, some jerk pushed it down and kicked repeatedly on the headlight fairing which broke into pieces and the two left blinkers got damaged when he pushed it down. the repair cost me around 4K. but couldn't find who did it.

the best thing to do is to install an anti-theft alarm (pricol make) but be careful with its installation. go to a pro for installation, other wise it can interfere with the bike's electrical system and drain-out the battery. this system has an impact sensor which can be programmed for touch/impact sensitivity.

This is the heights of vandalism. Sounds more like revenge and most probably that guy had something against you. Did you steal his girlfriend?

At least at home one can rig up a camera with a motion sensor so that it starts recording when some movement is detected. That way you can catch the vandal and beat him to pulp.

first... you need to find out who the vandal is...

then... words like "eat your liver" usually work.

it's sad how some people don't have any regard for other peoples stuff.

Scare whom? He doesn't even know who's doing these!!! May be these are happening when someone tries to squeeze & park their rides too.

I may sound dumb, Get a spy cam pen & fix it somewhere feasible to capture & find the vandal.

Adding to all that people have said so far...

when parking please take care that you do it properly. Most parking places are crowded it is annoying to anyone who arrives at a parking space and finds a motorcyle on the side stand (inclinded at 45deg) and parked across. It takes a space for two motorcycles. If the person had a scuffle with his ex's boyfreind, he is bound to break your tail light.

Same problem here also.....i think paying to the parking wala to have a eye on your bike is the best option.

once, even i have been victim of this jealous act.

i installed a Rs 400. auto cop remote locking system.

and next night around 2 am, i ran out when i heart bike raising alarm, but the culprit had already left.

and there on there was peace of mind.

that cheap remote lock worked for 4 years.
We wouldn't need a forum if we all had same opinions, same thoughts, and same bikes..... Enjoy the difference.
