Please help me decide between Suzuki GS150 and Yamaha SZ R.
I have been riding the Hero Honda Ambition 135 for close to 55,000 KMs now. Even though it is in sparkling condition even today, its showing its signs of aging. The fuel efficiency has come down from 50-55 to around 40ish. I can easily feel the lack of top end power when I want to zip through. Also, no electric start is kind of pre-historic now.
My requirements are as follows:
1) Comfort: I will be riding the bike mostly alone, but the pillion rider should also be in a very comfortable position. Especially hopping on and off should be easy.
2) Fuel Efficiency: Anything around 50 would do.
3) Riding conditions: Purely city driving. No highway runs. I have my car for the highways.
4) Ownership cost: The cost of spares, services and overall A.S.S. should be good enough. I am pretty satisfied with the way Hero Honda works. So we can benchmark it there. So any company which does even 0.5% better is game.
5) Price: Max 65-70K.
Many of you must be wondering why no Bajaj or Honda in the choices. Well, I DO NOT want a Bajaj bike. I have driven all of them and nothing has ever impressed me, not even the P220. I would prefer the Karizma over the P220 anyday. Honda Unicorn is also a bike which suits my requirements pretty well, except for the pillion seat. The pillion seat height is way too much and my wife will have hard time hopping on and off.
Out of the 2 choices, I have gathered a lot of information about Suzuki GS150. Its technologically pretty good with 6 speed box and good looks. Not much idea about the Yamaha SZ R, since its comparatively pretty new.
So please shoot guys.
