  • What bike would you want as an electric/hybrid?

Hi guys. I was thinking of converting a R15 / FZ 16 / Fazer to a hybrid and all electric, without compromise in performance - in electric. What would you choose? And is there anybody, who wants their bike done up as hybrid / all electric ( All electric is not all street legal . Hybrid can do ) for fun?
I have also successfully converted a scooter (spirit) to a Mild series hybrid (electric + engine). So thinking of making a Full parallel hybrid on a Dio.
You guys have some suggestions and comment, kindly pour in.

Also check me high speed electric bike here:

Hemank, I know about your capabilities & hence I would'nt mind donating you one for fun. But all I used to say & would expect is...
      - Less charging time, say less than 2 hours
      - Performance, as you've already mentioned
      - Long range of riding, say atleast 300 Kms in one full charge excluding fossil fuel
Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

+1 range and charging time is very important.

To add battery must be long lasting also.

Just gimme this much, and i am ready to buy one -

                  - range of about 80-100 kms ( 80 kms at high speed riding, 100 kms with sane riding, say 50-60 kmph, but 80 kms with average speeds of 80-90 kmph )
                  - Good braking ( disc front atleast )
                  - Good handling ( low COG )
                  - top speed of about 90 kmph
                  - charging time of 4 hrs for 80 % ( 60 kms ), and 8 hours for 100 %

Not necessarily a sports bike, a chopper ( on the bullet chassis since it can take the weight also ), cruiser will do.

Bring the price around 70k-90k, with the battery lasting for 30,000 kms atleast, and you have a buyer.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

                  - KTM Duke 200
                  - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

Hi. All this has already been achieved in my prototype : Link : EV2 pictures by stuntfreak12345 - Photobucket

But the price is kinda high. in 70 to 90 k, V can work out a simpler chassis, like u said a bullet, and rest all shud fit in. The above mentioned specs are not a problem.

                      Fyi

I dont believe in crap manufacturing. where qty is important. If u want quality, thers a price to it, but U will surely get quality. 90k is a gud price n since u are oka with the chopper shape, its easier to mount in more batteries = higher range. Batteries will last 3 years.(then a replacement cost of 15 to 20 k)

Again comes down to price. Do u want cheap lead acid batteries or expensive li-ion batteries? or a compromise between the two, but with higher accuracy of discharging and charging - NiMh?

good to hear that. Dint know that the batteries would come so cheap. Btw, how much range in terms of kms do u reckon the bike will have on the batteries before they get due for replacement ( 20-30,000 kms or higher ).
