  • Need Help : Chennai : MV Agusta

    Hi guys,

didn't know where else to ask for help : I was looking for a particular bike which was up for sale about 3 years back in Chennai. It was a 06/07 MV Agusta legal import. At that time my budget was somewhat half of what the guy was asking for, and now I think the bike's price also must have come down + my funds have gone up.

I would be really grateful if someone here could help me out in locating that bike + helping me get the contact details of the current owner.

As far as I remember there was a Senna edition bike in Bangalore too. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on it either, but IF and only IF the bike has been maintained well.

Hoping to get some positive feedbacks here real soon...

F3s wont be sold in India anyway, below 800 cc. Unless the rules change.
I guess he is looking for that particular bike which seems to be a legal import.

I too was interested in the Honda CBR 600RR so i asked the Honda showroom guys but they said its below 800 so its not going to be available in India but
how come the Ninja 650 R and the Hyousung GT 650R are launched/ing here.
          I keep wondering.

Being a lil positive that 600 Super Sports might someday officially see the light here.

            Hey Quad Master ,

I think its not the 600cc per se that is the problem . Its IMPORTING one under 800cc which is illegal . The Hysoung is mostly locally sourced ( if not all ) and the 650r will be in CKD form just like the N250R . Gurus correct me if i'm wrong .

            Regards,

My query is i dont understand why not get the super sport when you can get the liter class here, something which has got to do with the Indian Government or the companies dont want to get them , dont know whats the real issue here.

Yes - The Ninja 650R will be a CKD assembled here.

ye thread kaha se kaha chala gaya?!?!?!

well as rightly mentioned above, currenty importing any bike below 800cc is not legal. one can though get the bikes below 800 cc via the TR channel only. but a lot of hassles and complications in it.

YES I am looking for that particular MV Agusta only as AFAIK that is a clean import with all the legitimate papers. It was for sale when I bought my 600RR 3 years back (it had come via the TR channel - and because of some confusion the original owner ended up paying full duty on it - so everything was clean), but at that time it was for almost 2 times over my budget.
Now I think I am in a position to buy that bike (considering in 3 years it would have come down a bit from its original asking price)

So if anyone can help me locate that particular bike, I would be eternally thankful. The bike was in Chennai. It was red and silver. The pics can be found on the forum, but I am unable to locate the owner.

I think you can get the info through RTI(right to information) act by writing a letter to RTO office in chennai.i think you may get some info about the present owner.
                  good luck.

he'll prolly get chased away if he says "right to information" to an RTO officer.

those guys can be real tools.

besides the fact, that they won't ever be able to do an "MV Agusta" lookup.

i know you were trying to help... hahaha... but it's just so funny.

there was a guy in firozepur who got his 600RR via TR from US. As his bike was just barely a couple of months old, he ended up paying the entire duty on the bike. It was a 06 model, imported the same year. I bought the bike off him in 2008 (and got it registered in my name after the 2 year lock-in was over). and yes, i found that guy's advt. here on xbhp itself.
