I've been itching to share my experience with everyone here, but been hesitant to register and post. Finally, here I am posting. Though I am new here, I have been reading up on a lot from the forum and It has helped me a lot in making my dream come true, owning my own superbike. I owe it to a whole lot of you here at xbhp, thank you guys.

I owe it especially to gthang, he has been an invisible warrior in making my dream a reality. If it wasn't for him I would still be looking for what and where to import a superbike. Thankyou, for sharing your experience bro it hit real closer to home, Coimbatore and it made my job a lot easier.

    My buying experience:

After reading Gthang's post, I started up my effort in full swing, posted an inquiry at Honda website, e-mailed them at customer care, none responded at all. Then I called up the numbers from the site, several dead ends and prolonged excuses like we are looking into the matter etc., I finally got a break through and had some responses, one Mr. Arul sales manager at Chandra Honda Coimbatore has been at the forefront and helped me through everything, my thanks to him. This took a month!

Later on I paid a token of about 1 lakh or less I don't remember to book the bike. Then after a week or so I was informed to make finance arrangement or make entire payment only then the bike will be transported from Delhi and I did, then they said one week for it to arrive and it did. But then the whole ordeal of documentation issues began and that reading from other posts and experiences, is part and parcel of buying CBU's for many. After over 2 weeks of dragging, the documentation was done, then i temporary registered the bike.

    My Riding experience:

They finally said, they cant risk anyone else riding the bike to RTO grounds, which was hardly a few kms from the showroom. And you should have seen the grin on my face! ha..ha. They handed over the key, I placed my rear on the saddle, twisted the key to ignition and there it was an uncontainable excitement and an extreme sense of fear running through me this was a 1000cc, 125bhp bike, unlike what I came driving to the showroom a pulsar 200 with 18 odd bhp.

The road was under construction for a few meters, then there it was tarmac as smooth as it could be, and she flew.. ha..ha! There it was again, the sensation of riding a superbike that I once briefly felt riding my friends cbr600rr. Nostalgic and this was my own! That was a feeling so good I felt i could fly. Had some good twisties and scary speed bumps, took me a while to realize I am not in control of this thing, it is instead in control of me! hit 120kmph max at a small patch of traffic-less road and had to limit myself within 60kmph through traffic. The bike is a dream to handle better than even a 200cc bike I own or any that I've driven, even cbr600rr. This is a bike for city roads.

By the time I reached the RTO grounds, I was shaking and shivering like I've been to hell. The bike was surrounded by loads or people I just stepped back from the crowd and let this sense of disconnect from the real world settle. After a half hour, I got the bike temp registered and Hit the road home 50kms from there. Though the road was under construction at many patches, She was a dream to drive. I hit 170 max just to see what she'd got. She is great for highways as well, but the wind blast is ridiculous over 130, partly because its the monsoons here in Tamil Nadu. Patches, small bumps and rough patches, she handles it better than any Indian bike.

It has torque from low down to all the way up, engine braking is great. The brakes are damn good, though I go a bit hard on rear and it skids a bit at times, guess not brave enough with the front discs I'm coming around that issue. Clutch and gearing is right on, especially when you are at flight at mid rpm and shifting its like butter, you don't even feel you are shifting. The grip from the tyres is amazing as well. This is already huge, I'll write more later

    Now for some pictures.

Bike's invoice price in india includes duty, was about 10,35,000 approximately, then temp registered, then had to register it in my city which was 8% of invoice price. So it all came about 11 lakh 30 to 40 thousand or so approximately. I paid through full cash. They can arrange finance through some banks or muthoot finance etc., through showroom. I don't know the proceedings Even showrooms in tirupur have come forward now, so if you feel like it you could contact prasanna honda in tirupur, since you're also from tirupur.

And They have a service engineer sent over from bangalore, or there is a trained service person at chandra honda, coimbatore for minor servicing. They provide service at home or at showroom, as you see fit. Though it's best to do it at show room, as they have proper tools and facility to do it properly and with ease.

                    enjoy

                    Hi,
The CB is a bike that you will enjoy . It is so good that you will be subject to the phenomenon called "the curse of the Honda". After experiencing the butter smooth gearbox, the champagne bottle hiss of the exhaust note, the linear power , the fantastic acceleration and the overall fit and finish- you will be greatly critical of 99 % of other bikes. The CB is a fine buy and you have made a good decision.
I was the owner of the first CB Honda sold in India and a few observations which may help enhance your experience-
                    1. Set the suspension to to about 70 % toward hard and see the handling improve.
                    2. When cornering , grip the tank with your thighs ( they have thoughtfully provided with a vinyl component that will allow you to do this) and enjoy the peg scraping turns.
                    3. Reduce wind blast by sitting as far back ( so that your butt touches the rear seat) and aligning your helmet to be in line with the small console cover /screen .
4.Check chain tightness at regular intervals as if the chain becomes slightly slack it will knock against the swingarm and make a noise especially in slow riding.
                    5. Make it a point to use the front brakes in conjuction with the rear to avoid rear slide .
                    6. Keep your mind in control as the bike really travels .

                    Good Luck .

Bows to the first CB owner, lolz.. major respects dude. And thanks for all the tips and suggestions, all taken in and I'll put in all the effort to make it a good experience. I certainly do respect the power of the bike, and keep myself in check. Still not a Honda fanatic as yet, though i love the bike. Still neutral about the rest of the crew of super-bikes, would love to experience the best and worst of all of them. Lets see where this takes me! Thank you for all the good words bro, cheers
