  • Kerala experts, need your help in planning a photography trip!

    Hi Guys,

A very senior member from the core Team of xBhp, who also happens to be a renowned photographer, will be visiting Kerala for 9-10 days.

This is going to be a purely photography oriented trip and his mode of transport will be cars only.

Now, could you guys please suggest few beautiful, non-touristy, off-the-beaten-track kind of places in Kerala.

He wants to see and capture the heart of Kerala, away from the crowded places. This could be backwaters, tea estates, and beaches; basically the places which would represent the true picture of Kerala.

So, would request all of you to pour in with your suggestions.

Talking of Backwaters, never miss Kuttanad area. Kumarakam lake, Kovalam beach, Munnar, Waynad, and of course the tvm pbk are extreme places for photography....
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

      1. Theni-Munnar-Top Station - Specially if you are driving with a lot of mist around
      1a. Also Udumalaipet to Munnar
      2. Get to some offroading (only by Jeep) to Nelliyampathy; all the way from Chalakudy to Pollachi; there're some excellent to WOW stretches.
      3. Athirapally waterfalls
      4. Wayanad
      5. Thodupuzha-Idukki stretch

Satyen, do you remember the plan we discussed or you want me to pen it down here?

BTW, I could only make up to Palanpur; the Mumbai-Pune & Surat-Ahmedabad express highways should be opened up for motorcycles; atleast...fast bikes!!! These ones really screwed up!!!

For sure, kerala has everything from mist, sunshine, paddy fields , hills, coastal belts and, all... idukki is a must to visit for pics... I dont know what type of four wheeler is honda, roll for this trip.. If it is capable of doing off roads list idukki district in the top as there re pure hidden heavens in the hilly district.... wayanad is awesome got it's climate and nature. but the only thing to keep it in mind that wayanad is not to be driven but to be trekked. Even if it's so, Muthanga which has a good chance to show wild animals can be accessed on four wheels. if you people can give an idea of the dates or month proposed and all, we ll make a schedule
started riding a motorized cycle on a chetak classic.
Learned to accelerate on Y RX100&135.
Learned not to fall down, the patience to heal wound on knee and to ride long on a classic Pulsar 150(still running)&180.....
Planning for more dream destinations on a new ZMR

Kerala is indeed a photographers delight.

                              1. Wayand.. there are places like muthanga and infact the whole place is spell bounding. The more days u spend there the more places you can see
                              2. Kuttanadu and Kumarakom for backwaters
                              3. Athirapally
                              4. Idukki -- there is a place called Ramakkalmedu on the route from kumily to Munnar. Its an amazing place with winds blowing as high as 15-20km/hr constantly. Also you get an aerial view of the plains below.
                              5. Munnar

If anyone is travelling through the entire stretch of kerala there are many more places which are interesting!!!
