This is my first travel log, if you find anything is incorrect grammatically please excuse me as I am not that good with English.

I had been planning to visit Kaas Plateau of Flowers since the time I came to know about it. I went to Tapola, Bamnoli and Kaas with my friends on friendship day but that time there was nothing, just rains, rains and rains. I wanted to see the Kaas and the flowers. I had read about it a lot on the internet and also heard a lot about it. Then I saw Kaas visit thread in G2G, it was on Sunday 25 Sept 2011. Unfortunately I was scheduled for the office with few of the important activities, so had to cancel it.

I spoke with my office friends about this ride, no one was ready due to conflicting schedules, finally one of my friend got ready but he had dropped out at the last minute due to some personal reason. There was a reason why I wanted to go there with at least one riding partner, I am a very novice rider, I had no experience with the highway, so I wanted someone whom I can follow and learn. I left alone to face it. I was a bit nervous, spoke with Ketan on IM and he encouraged me to go for it, even I spoke with one of my friend in Pune who is also member of xbhp here Meghnad, he also said to go for it. That was enough for me to boost myself for this ride.

On 30 Sept I had to visit my friend as he would be going to Singapore went to meet him so I came late that night at home with cough, headache and itching throat but that did not bother me, I was very determined for the ride. Took Crocin, slept with alarm on my cell phone and the funny part is the alarm never rang, I myself woke up on time may be the excitement of the first ride was so much that I got up automatically without any help, had bath, geared up and got ready for the ride.

Early morning ride always been pleasure, left home at around 5:45 am, 15 mins late from schedule. Went slowly till Chandani Chowk to get the engine properly warmed up, after Chandani Chowk I hit the highway for the first time with the thought of I have to ride till Satara. It was amazing! It was still dark, its an amazing feeling riding on the highway, I was very comfortable on it with cruising speed in much of control 60-80 kmph. Then saw an empty stretch rolled the throttle to check top speed of my SZ-R, surprising I managed to touch 110 kmph and that too twice.

Stopped for the fuel clicked below photo at the fuel station. I was now confident about the highway and the ride.

I was enjoying the ride and I was thinking how much have I missed waiting for someone to partner me on highway. I stopped for the breakfast, ate Pohe and had a cup of tea, while I was gearing up to leave the hotel, heard a 4 cylinder sound approaching towards the same hotel, it was Suzuki Bandit! :-)

While moving towards Satara I saw Orange Mani gold flowers field, stopped there clicked some photos.

Then moved towards Satara thinking now no more stops. As this was my first time, I missed right turn for Satara, one of trucker parked on road side directed me towards the Satara, took U turn rode about 3 kms again and entered Satara, I asked for Kaas route and I was directed on correct path by local auto drivers.

The school going kids in Satara were looking at me like I was an alien lol, I guess they might not have seen anyone fully geared on bike.

Road to Kaas is a single narrow road, with local bus drivers not bothering about the bikes! K I rode cautiously and carefully on that road, there were few bad patches on the road, I purposely dropped my speed on those bad patches as I did not want to get tired due to those bumpy roads. While moving towards Kaas saw some nice spots, clicked some photos there and moved to Kaas.
