  • Hello xBhp! and here's my story.

    A warm greetings to all friends at xBhp. I have been a avid reader of xBhp from some time now and felt that it will be fun to join the community.
    So here's my story.

    I am from Assam but currently working in Bangalore. I always had a passion for anything that had 2 wheels. I started my 2 wheel journey on a bmx cycle my dad bought for me when I was 7. Then moved onto my dad's Piaggio Vespa. I have sweet memories of riding the Vespa alone to Shillong. I was 18 then and had no license. I got a good scolding from dad when I got back.

    After that i rode HH Splendor of my brother for a few years. After I moved to Bangalore I got a Yamaha gladiator from a friend of mine.
    I am a die hard fan of Bullet and used to drive a friends bullet for almost a year but sadly my girlfriend don't like the thump of bullet and didn't let me buy a bullet.

    So here I am still riding a gladiator but hoping to buy my love Triumph Bonville whenever its launched in India.

      Thank your Sunil sir.

      I have a question here.
      I hope to restore my 1982 Vespa scooter, but not able to find any decent person capable of doing that. Last time I gave the scooter for fixing they gave me back with a badly tuned carburetor. The mechanic blamed the Italian made engine saying its a bit hard for him.
      I am at lost now since the scooter brings back my dad's memories and don't want it to languish it in garage after he passed away.

      Earnestly, hoping that xBhp will help me here. Can one can guide to a capable person in northeast or might be in Bangalore itself who does a good restoration job.
      Rough estimate what it might cost me?
      If such a person is available here I can arrange to bring the scooter here.

      Thanks for any input.

        Hi metalman!
        I am also new here, welcome.

        I have always thought of driving east, Shilong, Imphal, Arunachal.
        Tough luck with the gf though!

            @kettitude: thank you and welcome.

            If you are interested in doing a NorthEast trip, there was a annual Royal Enfield bike trip organized from Guwahati, Assam till Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Its a very treacherous journey. Not sure whether its still held.
            I have long been planning this trip, hopefully some day.

            About gf yeah, her point is bullet produces too much of noise pollution.
            To a point she is true, but to me bullet is a bullet and its born to thump.

            @jd666: thank you very much.

              @metalman - Good to hear your story, sounds like my story as i also started with my dad's bajaj priya which was 1977 model and till date, i have kept her in upright running condition. And again splendor for 10 years, and currently on the blue Beast R15. Had a shogun for short time which lost in accident.

              Well if you want a restoration talk to Joel Joseph and i am sure he can help you. Check the bangalore-kadamba offline thread.

              Regarding the clash between your girl and bullet, give her a good explanation and bring the later home, as i have gone through that and convincing helped a lot to bring my R15 home and now both parties are at peace
