  • Bangalore Ducati Dealership Closing/Closed?

Looks like there is some issue with dealership. I had booked monster in Sept'11. I was supposed to get the bike in Aug, then Sept and then Oct. Now I have got the refund of booking amount (2L), by post dated cheque. No proper reason given. Every time I have got a vague reply saying some issue with paper work. I am hoping that my refund cheque will clear . Showroom is closed with a board saying under maintenance. I was also told that my booking is kept and I can get the bike when ever it comes. But not sure when.

Guys who have already bought the bike have any information? What you are doing for service? Any update appreciated. Sold my mt-01 to book monster. Now three months later I am still without a bike

Apparently the showroom was visited by some higher officials from Ducati Italy and they did not like the layout and hence the remodeling/renovation.

If you can wait a bit longer for the bike, please do. The check wont bounce as the company is very credible and has a reputation to keep.

I am pretty sure it is not that. I heard that they have refunded 13 orders. Also they are not accepting any bookings. That really sounds strange for someone wanting to stay in business.

Huge speculative thread..Ducati officials have denied any such closing/closed showroom.

This is not a speculation thread. Ducati has nothing to do with this. The dealer in question is Matrix Agencies Pvt Ltd. I issued the cheque to them and they have refunded it. That's why my concern is if it will clear. Finally manager of the show room let it out saying that the owner is from Bellary and is/was involved in Bellary mining. He is having some legal issues. If that's true I don't see them continuing in the same name and same location. All the Sales guys are saying it will be shifted out of Bangalore, but don't know where.

They have not made a single delivery since June'11. People who want to book please verify and make sure (not sure what you can do though) that you will get a delivery

May be and JUST may be they want you to see the New Monster before you decide on what to buy?

I am just being idiotically optimist, I know how it pinches to wait and then something like this happen!

I hope you are right . Damn, I had almost ordered the accessories and asked my friend to pick it up when he is coming back from US. Held back in the last minute because I had some vague feeling about the delay. Now I am in a mood for new SF. If only some proper dealer could sell it here. Right now I am just wishing for my cheque to clear. Don't really want to get into issues.

hang in there buddy..i started a group called ducati india riders on facebook a while back. Most ducati officials across india are in there. The bangalore official "Jay" has strongly opposed the possibility if the showroom shutting down. I guess I take his word for it. I've put this information in the group. Let's see if any light can be shed through the group..I'm sorry if i added to your sadness in anyway..Peace

thats no a good news is it
personally i dont think they will close the showroom
ducati does not open showrooms in every city of the country like other manufactures do, and chances of them closing down are pretty slim.

now, more importantly, regarding ur bike, am not trying to discourage u, if u do not get ur bike this month, u probably will not get it in this year, unless ur bike is lying around some where in India already. Ducati factory closes down in november and they do not do any business in november, and most of december are holidays any way.

good luck mate....... hope ur prayers will be answered :-)

                        These are uncertain times really!

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the look of the showroom, they won't refund bookings if it was so!! Even the Ducati Gurgaon showroom was a simple see thru cubicle and it also shut down about 5-6 months back. Now that agency has opened Hyosung dealership at that place. So I think it's not a big surprise if they shutdown and reopen another showroom.

Talk about uncertain times. Today after depositing the cheque, I got a call saying cheque may not clear as there is not enough fund. They have taken my complete account details saying they will do RTGS/NEFT.

Cheque bounced . RTGS/NEFT still not done.
Latest from the manager is - Showroom will be functional from November 10th. Bikes are expected by end November. Not sure what to believe.
I have been promised that the refund wire transfer will happen tomorrow.

Worst buying experience so for me.

Manager was courteous enough to send a apology sms. Finally received refund by wire transfer. He still insists they will be back in business. May be. Right now they are in some kind of soup. My bike will have to wait I guess
