  • Moto GP and WSBK Championship in 2012 at Budh International Circuit

Well as to our expectations we might get lucky to watch the 1st Moto GP or WSBK championship at Budh International Circuit in 2012 as JPSI is in talks to host the race in 2012. However Moto GP's provisional calender on the Moto GP website does not show something like this but as its just provisional and some of the races STC and TBC.Lets keep our fingers crossed for this

Heard an interview of Sameer gaur MD of JPSI few days back and he seems to be very serious and confident of bringing Moto GP to India. I hope JPSI comes up to our expectations.Don't know why but i have an inkling that we will get to see some serious motorcycling action in the upcoming year.Just Can't wait to hear this news

I doubt it will happen in 2012..unless some venue gets dropped for some other reasons.but by 2013 i guess every major event will try their best to come here

Well he didn't give any reviews on the bike but he was very happy with the track, though the same layout will not be used.

As about the bike, it was fully modified with the daytona kit and it revved like mad. 110-115 kph in 3rd gear itself

Mahindra? They have been in the 125cc class last year and are participating in the Moto3 this year.

Alright guys, its happening... MotoGP coming to India in 2013!

New Delhi: In 2011 India hosted its first ever Formula One Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, and by March 2013 MotoGP will make its debut at the 5.14-km long racetrack.

According to media reports, by March 2013 Buddh International Circuit is aiming to add both MotoGP and World Superbike to its event line-up. "We want to accommodate all of these races, but India has only five months of good weather (October-March) when they can be held," said Sameer Gaur, managing director and chief executive officer of Jaypee Sports International told a leading business daily.

Another leading website says: "The decision to hold the opening round of next year's MotoGP season in India comes directly from Carmelo Ezpelata, the head of MotoGP organising body, Dorna, who insisted that the MotoGP racing season should start earlier from next year in the month of March than its present opening in April."

Leading international car and motorcycle manufacturers have also shown keen interest in the Indian circuit and its potential to hold world class events to showcase their products.

I didn't understand why he said only 5 months of good weather (October to March). I think Summer racing might be uncomfortable, but its relatively safer and grippy enough to race.
But anyways, let's hope India replaces Qatar as the location for the first round of MotoGP.
