Thanks in advance. So here it is:- I used to ride a lot. However, it’s been almost a year that I have not been able to take my bike anywhere out on a long trip. I felt as if I would never ride again. The reasons? Well, first - I suffered an accident few months back in which I almost said hello to the almighty. However, the almighty was kind enough to send me back for some more rides
. Secondly, I got married in Feb, 2011 and things automatically started to change (many married guys out there would agree to me
). Thankfully my wife turned out to be equally enthusiastic and excited when she learnt about my love for bikes and my past weekend escapades. It had been quite a few months – almost a year that we [ group of 6 friends – Sachin, Mandar and I (Nagesh) and our respective better halves ] had been together on a road trip. Obviously I was getting restless. Not knowing really what was the reason behind it, until that one day when I joined XBHP in August, 2011. I must say that It was because of this move that the riding bug bit me again. I went through numerous travelogues and various threads under the section “THE TOURER”. That’s where it all started. I am very thankful to XBHP and fellow xbhpians for arousing the rider inside me.
So finally I decided to plan a long ride. I spoke to Sachin (Casba Foundation – Facebook Page) about planning to go on a long ride. He was equally excited. That’s when he and I began to discuss when, how and where. Soon we were supported by our respective better halves. Sachin came up with an idea stating, “Can we make it a different ride this time compared to our regular weekend rides”? . I said , “Yes , why not”. In a couple of days, as we discussed and exchanged ideas , we came up with a concept. It was – To combine biking with Heritage Conservation as it is one of the fields in which Sachin works through Casba Foundation.
By this time, Girish, my younger brother had also joined us and he named it “Team Casba”. Then once the concept was clear we decided to plan and organize a ride under the name of “Tour Indicus (Facebook Page)” as an annual event. As the concept goes we had to decide about a location which will suit the concept. Soon we narrowed down on Ajanta-Ellora caves. Eventually we published the details of this tour on Facebook in July, 2011 and guess what – we were really surprised to see so many applicants in such a small period of time. We had decided to freeze the entries by September 15th, 2011. However, we had to stop entries in August itself. We never expected such an overwhelming response to our concept. Please visit the facebook page for all the details.
I think it’s enough now. It’s time for me to update the travelogue. Please forgive me for any mistakes made. Its my first ever trip log
. Here it goes – A Teaser –

. It should have been the 2nd exit which goes via the majestic Daulatabad fort.) From this exit onwards we enjoyed our ride because the roads were good and were surrounded by beautiful landscapes. In just about half an hour we reached Ellora.
