Hi, If you are looking for a bike for long distance touring then ZMA is indeed a proven tourer has a relaxed engine and Hero motors backing almost every part of india to handle servicing. Parts are bit expensive though but last decently long. Have heard about reports in the past that availability of spares is sometimes b@tch!! Please do check availability of spares near your place before you go ahead with the decision to purchase.

If you are looking for a pocket rocket then R15 is a better bet. You can redline the engine all the time and it will just thank you for it. R15 has a very robust engine and can take a lot of abuse. I am 5'10 and R15 suits me just fine. The parts are not very expensive and this bike will last you long. Plus if you later want to upgrade its power, you always have our tuner Joel (:.Welcome To Race Concepts.:) to do stage wise souping up of the bike without losing FE. A Fully souped up R15 is a ninja 250r killer as claimed by Joel.

End of the day based on your utility make a decision. Both are good bikes but have been designed with a different purpose. Check the history of servicing of both the bikes. If the owner has the paper of every servicing he has done of his bike then you have struck gold my friend!

Seeing your height, both R15 and ZMR will suffice, But If you are planning for long intercity rides, look for a used ZMA, I bet you'll not regret. Good luck.

thanks for the reply bphukon and shv 18. let me tell about this eventful day...i called up the r15 owner at 7.30...in the morning and said i will come and see the bike..i hopped on to my cbz xtreme ..i reached his place at 8.10 and i test drove the bike..
1. rpm needle didn't rev above 7500 rpm in first three grears...
2.i think the bike had a fall...there is some bend in the shocks and also a small crack on the fairing...i was disappoineted...i told him that i will decide and tell and i immediately called the zma and visited his place..
issues with the zma
1. squeeking noise from rear brakers.
2. front schoks were loose..
3. weak battery..
i wasn't utterly disappointed that both bikes are not upto my exceptations..i came back to home at 11..then only i remembered that i have to go to college to write my arrear exams..the exams were sheduled at 2 pm..the total distance is 160kms from chennai to villupuram...i left home by 11.20 and reached college by 1.40 am..i was doing speeds around 90 to 105..with the top speed being 120...then i saw the girl whom i love..i was admiring the glimpse of her..she is now is final year..but sadly she belongs to another guy..thank god the exam papers wan't tough..i finished the exam by 3.30 and come out..at that some body touched my shoulders from behind..i turned back and saw him..he was my senior is college...he is more worse than me in studies..still writing arrear exams..we were chit chatting..he said that is going to dubai...he wants to sell his zma....immediately we left to chennai in my cbzx...i straight away headed to his home and saw the bike..it was an awesome...2011 june..3000kms done..i asked what is the price? he said i need 58,000 immediately...i was suprised..i immediately accepted the deal...the bike is also black and there is no light...i wasn't able to take pics..by tommorow or friday i will get the bike..and post pics..

things are out of control now...i have talked..pleaded..even begged to her....still no use"....i have tried all the possible things that a man can do..no use at all...she has insulted me in the every possible way..
coming back to the topics...
this is going to be my first zma..i haven't rode one before...
my questions are
1. what is idling rpm?
2. at what rpm the bike reaches 100?

It happens but just let her know that you love her the most, way more than his recent bf. Its not so easy, but keep at least talking to her, not about love and all but as a friend and a good human being.
Idle rpm should be set to(if not set already) 1200-1400 rpm.
I don't know the exact rpm for 100kph but it does 40kph at 2.5k rpm and 80kph at 5k rpm. I'll note it today and will tell you tomorrow.

thanks sunny....what is the top speed? i just say a guy draging his zma to 142...i saw the video in you tube...but most reviews say the top speed in 125...i wanna know this..becuase my cbzx touches 115 easily..with lot of strain it can do 120...

My bike has hit 140kph on speedo few times(not everytime I want it to), but the normal top speed according to its speedometer is 135-137kph. It cannot cross the 140kph mark on the speedo without any serious mods.
