  • Hi New Bike and new rider

Quite embarrassingly I am 31 year old male who has never ridden a bike.
I live in Lucknow and now I travel 30 km every day to my job. For the past 6 months I have been using a 15 year old borrowed scooty.
    Today I bought Discover DtSi(100cc).
Total cost 50,600 Rs with every thing included, nothing extra. Even got a side bag.
Took my friend with me to bring the bike and then rode a bike for the first time with his help.

Anybody who would like to give suggestion to a brand new biker, is more than welcome.

    my usage will be home----office----home.

Mileage primary target.(City and Highway traffic)

For now I will be riding it around my house at least untill I know how to use it and get my number(registration).

      Welcome to xBhp...
      as for the tips..
      • follow the running-in procedure strictly, most new riders are either unaware or simply don't want to follow. don't ride above 60 kmph for first 1000 kms in top gear and in any gear do not cross 4500 rpm. these are general guidelines. for exact speeds et al, read the user manual thoroughly.
      • follow all traffic rules. even if other's are in a hurry, let them be. never jump a red signal. its for your own safety.
      • always wear a helmet, atleast an ISI certified one, not fake ones available for 200 rs. always wear shoes while riding a bike. these are bare minimum safety requirements.
      • always do all your free services at stipulated intervals. will help in keeping your bike trouble free and warranty intact.
      enjoy riding.

        Welcome to XBHP.
Watch out when shifting from second gear to third there is a false neutral.(I had to thump it into place)
But read post #3 before going further.

          Thank you all

I will try to keep these things in mind, yesterday took it to my office, not much trouble, except shifting gear at low speed(in heavy traffic) is a bit confusing.
          Bought a helmet studds(NINJA) Original
          did not cross 45 kmph.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply
