          Day 1: Blore - Madikeri - Mandalpatti - Sullya

Bangalore to Madikeri via Mysore is like Homecoming, I have lost count of the times I have done this route.

Every time I ride on the dreaded My Sore Road (pun intended) I am scared for dear life (Need to create a separate thread to bash My Sore Road : P )

Although I love the city and the food

          Road : SH17 - Bangalore - Mysore
Intent: Scare the living daylights of a motorcyclist : P (worst traffic sense)

So no pictures of this Death Penalty Road :P

SH-88 which connects Mysore and Coorg is an absolute pleasure to ride, one of the best roads in India and you will see why.

          Road : SH88 - Mysore - Madikeri, Coorg
Intent: Built for an Inline4 PERIOD

Mandalpatti - A hill range about 30kms from Madikeri (hill top accessible by road) has become the cynosure of every tourist heading to Coorg since it was featured in a movie, that apart ' It is a beautiful location ' and best enjoyed on an early morning or in the evening.

Till Mandalpatti I was sulking for not riding the R1, one ride through Mandalpatti and I understood why Vijay (my brother) and Niranjan were apprehensive of me getting a faired SBK.

In short, these 30kms are built for one motorcycle - Hero Impulse; well even the BMW1200GS can take it

          Road: Madikeri - Mandalpatti
Intent: 100% pleasure for an off-road enthusiast

          The view from the top

          Mapping the territory

Effects of missing the R1 :P

An ideal camp site: On the way back from Mandalpatti

After soaking in the view of Mandalpatti, we had planned to hit Kasargod or Bekal Fort to stay for the overnight.
All this vanished like the asphalt on the road to Sullia from Madikeri

          Road: Madikeri - Sullya
Intent: Mint money (Baarish inhe barbaad karte hai, road contractors is se abaad hote hai :P ) pardon my hindi skills !!!

We were forced to call it a night in Sullya, the roads are meant for nothing less than a Gurkha 4X4.

          @Sunil : Thank you

@satyen : Avoid the summer visit, too darn hot

@Phanikar: Yes Niranjan was there the entire trip

Thanks Asif, missed out the P220 :P
Well, it is convenient to share it on FB as well.

Added the P220 to the list and no, we all rode together
