Hi, Biker at Heart, and welcome to xBhp.

This thread can turn into a never ending saga if people start counting the pros and cons of all the bikes, ultimately leading to a never-ending brand war.

So the better way to go about it is that you first set your priorities about what you want from your bike and see which bike/bikes fit the bill and if you still have confusion left, then please ask here. '

Otherwise, the discussion here would leave you with more questions than answers.

Firstly welcome to xBHP.

If you can clearly write down what you want, budget and other requirements then the bike selection process becomes a breeze. Here you are asking to compare three bikes from three different segments.

Only a right question will fetch a right answer. To ask a right question, first try answering this. Budget, how frequent will there be a pillion, mileage, personal preference, view after taking a TD. This can go on and on. Try putting them down bro.

Take a test ride.
Of course more power than R15. Definitely awesome look. Different from current Indian bikes.

Heyy there..Firstly, there is no such thing as a better bike, I mean it all depends on what you want out of a bike and what are your priorities. There are a lot of considerations which need to be made before going for a bike.. For instance - your physical dimensions as every bike will have different seating positions, power, handling, mileage, looks, budget etc. So what's best for me might not be best for you. Secondly, KTM and CBR 150 are yet to be launched so nobody out here can give you a first hand test ride comparo between the 3 bikes mentioned by you. KTM was tested by xbhp and ride review is posted, but CBR is yet to be tested. R15 V2 is already out in the market. .
Anyway here are the pros and cons for my V2-
Pros: Amazing handling, good at city driving too, killer looks, uncompromised finish and quality, trusted and proven engine, good mileage (i'm getting 40kmpl with mixed driving)
Cons: Aggressive seating position - back and wrist will pain initially (my back pain went away before even 1000km and now wrists pain only during prolonged off roading), pillion seat only for gfs, other people wont be comfortable at all and a bit powerless in lower rpms with pillion.
As for now wait for KTM's launch on 24th and try to get a test ride of KTM as well as V2. If you can wait even further then wait for launch of CBR also.

Jot down your requirements first and then Weigh your options well.

I'm half-way convinced on the R15. A test ride of the Duke should help me decide. Will post again soon.

CBR and R15 have fairings which should help you with the windblasts on the highways. CBR & R15's longer gearings will play their part too in eliminating fatigue and ensuring a smooth ride. But, R15's seating position is very aggressive which may result in fatigue over time.

Although personally, I can't stand the CBR for its ordinary looks and lack of sharpness in engine/ brakes/ handling/ etc, on the other hand it will surely prove to be the best tourer package among the bikes here.

And Duke has no fairing, not even a decent windscreen. Plus, it seems to be undergeared so while it will perform better than the other alternatives in the low speed situations, the cruising possibilities are very limited.

Finally, Ask yourself: Will you keep touring most/ all of the time OR you'll just go for a Shimla/ Leh and then settle back to your city's commutes?

If you'll keep touring most/ all of the time, CBR is the best bet among these. If you plan to tour and then get back to commuter's life, choose the Duke or the R15. It should be a wiser decision to choose light and sharp bikes like D200 and R15 for the long term.

People have done occassional tours on 100cc and 80cc bikes as well as focussed sportsbikes too, so think long term, not only your dream tour. I hope I helped you decide.

Bike,mobile phone and wife is like... you always think "isse accha ho skta tha agar mein ruk jata kuch din".

So go for the bike what you always wanted to ride.. like you have been riding 7 years you might have seen people and had love on any bike.
i used to ride a scooty but when i used to ride i use to see karizma and was in love with it..
didnt even knew how many gears it have but i went and bought it.. And to be honest i love it because i always wanted it..
So Listen to your heart, it never say wrong
