    Hi guys,

    General observation...
    - Website loads quick; search results are fast
    - Prices in lower budgets (less than Rs 1000 per Night) are available in places like Udaipur, Coorg, Coimbatore, Pondichery, Wayanad, Kanyakumari, Ooty, Kodaikana, Tirupathil; other places like Thekkady, Jaisalmer, Chickmagalur (17K per night), Salem have more than 1K per night
    - Places like Sringeri, Agumbe, Karkala, Dharmasthala, Bekal is not listed for any accommodation
    - Places like Sriperumbudur, Kumbakonam, Udipi, Kumbalgarh, Hassan is listed for 1 guest house available, but does not list them. Better demonstrated in the attached pics...
    - Last but not the least, as an xBhpian, I'm sure most of us would expect a little discount over the regular one. Could we?

      When the link was first given on the GIR website, I tried a few search runs on this. But for an extremely low budget traveller like me, I sadly didn't find options in most of the smaller towns that I searched in.

      But its good if you are interested in slightly more expensive and better accommodation.
      Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

        Like in the second screenshot from Aargee's post, it says 1 guesthouse found, but doesn't show up the results. Pretty inconsistent website. Needs loads of improvement though.
        It asks for a City name, and when I type in "Madikeri", it says that the city is not found, I then did a search with Coorg and got it. And when selecting the Region, I tried several searches and each attempt gave different results.
        I first searched with "Madikeri" as the region and got 6 results. Then tried Kushalnagar as the region and again got the same results as Madikeri. Then tried Madikeri again and this time, got 62 results. When checking in detail, I found some of the hotels to be listed several times. Actually, the results are only a page long, but they've listed the same thing in 5-6 pages.
        Two prices are shown for each hotel, one supposedly original and the offered price (Looks like a cheap marketing gimmick to me).
        An average site, Not sure how the customer service would be.
        Some of the Happiest people in the world don't have everything. They just make the best of everything life brings their way !!! Stay happy, Smile always :)

              New Website Coming Up!

              Thanks for all the feedback and testing out our site!

              The current website was our first template when we just started our company(Only a few of us with very little moolah!). For the past 4 months we have been working on recreating our site right from design, usability, functionality and overall appeal.

                  1. What's the difference between booking from a big travel site vs MyGuestHouse.com?

                  Well it's the product we sell. While a big travel site supplies air tickets, hotels, tour packages etc, we only provide Budget Accommodation. Most of the travel sites do not have as extensive an inventory as us in this price segment. Different product for a different user basically.

                  2. Niche Business ?

                  Our portal is geared to cater to college students, adventure travellers, young professionals, bikers, backpackers and travel enthusiasts who spend more time exploring vs at the hotel.

                  3. Product Differentiation ?

                  Live Inventory. What that means is, whenever a room is booked with a hotel in our inventory, a live update on room availability shows up on our back end. This way, when a consumer books through our portal, the hotelier gets to know via his system what room has been booked, date etc. In short, no last minute cancellations and only confirmed bookings!


                  We are a young and passionate organization and believe that innovative tech. will help us boost Budget Travel in India. We know we have some work to do as well on certain aspects and hope the community will help us get better!

                      Hi

                      Went through the website and interesting....one suggestion..can you also put in the location of the hotel sync with the google maps so that as a traveller we can choose after seeing the travelling route vs stay
