  • Changing from ZMR to CBR250 with ABS - Is it worth it?

    Guys,

    I have a ZMR and am thinking of selling it and buying CBR250 with ABS. With great difficulty i have managed to convince my better half on this. I have taken a TD of CBR250 and like the
    * Smoothness of the engine & gear shift
    * 25BHP power!
    * Low end torque
    * easy navigation in traffic
    * Safety of ABS
    * Wide rear tyres
    * Honda Brand

    My ZMR is about 1.5 years old and done about 6000+ Km in the ODO. I use it mainly for city commute and rarely take it on long drive. When it rains i prefer to use car so not much usage in the rainy season. In this 1.5 years of ZMR usage my bike has not given me a single issue till now!

    Going through the CBR ownership posts makes me wonder if i am making the right choice or not. Majority of members complain of some or other quality issues in CBR. Some major where as others minor. When i pay 2lakh i expect good quality. I dont want to keep running to ASC every other day! Quality issues (Small niggles)was one of the reason why i Hero Honda over Bullet!

    Price & FE is not a constraint for me. Current FE of CBR250 is sufficient for me. I checked with Honda dealer (Anand Honda - Bommanahalli) in Bangalore and he said "can deliver in 1 week".

    Your help in helping me decide is greatly appreciated
    Ravikiran

      CBR 250 is a big upgrade from ZMR. Both in power & looks. Definitely worth it.

      PS - A poll would save ur precious time and easier to identify the results.

        If you like it then you should definitely go for the cbr as it is a big upgrade from the karizma. But i would suggest u also take a test ride of the duke before deciding
        Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

          yeah it is definitely worth it.why?

          you get a quarter-litre international bike with cbr badging.
          a capable tourer with torquey engine for city run-abouts.
          a fuel-efficient engine as it is a honda.
          a 3 pot set up with c-abs for efficient safe braking power.

          now about the famous cbr niggles,it was there in the first lot,honda has acknowledged and rectified them.the only issue is the lack of bite of front brake,which has 2 pot set up for standard version,but as you are getting a c-abs this issue is non-existent.
          now cbr 250 is vfm in all aspects.so go grab one.

          honda asc is bad-ass sometimes,build up a rapport with servicing guys for extra attention.
          and the question remains why do i race?
          every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

          #i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
          #overkill is underrated.
          #how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
          #i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

          (:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

            Everybody says this. Honda's service centers are less compared to the number of bikes they have to service. Even if you want you cant make a good rapport. They don't have time to listen to u. General notion is you've to give ur bike and go. And watever special you told they will forget seeing the number of bikes. But still for CBR 250s it might be possible as they are premium product in the line but not for any other model.

                  why not stick to the asc with which you have good relationship.

                  p.s.=it is easier to get extra attention with flagship model.but i have serviced my friends stunner and unicorn too,so again i am saying learn the art.
