My choice would be CBR 150R or similar but not Yamaha R15 v2 for its upper back sit. I have heard Ninja 150RR may launch in India in 2013. Is that true ? What will suitable for me. Mileage is not that concerned. I will have to ride daily approx 20 km for my office.

New 150cc bike in 2013
I'm gonna buy a 150cc sports bike in early 2013. I have no past biking experience neither I own a bike. I can drive car(last 4years) and practicing with a Pulsar 180 these days.

Thread ApprovedAdvice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Ninja 150r is in News only no concrete news of it's specific date arrival so drop the plan!!
If Pillion comfort is important then go with CBR else R15 any day!!
R15 has improved mid range torque as compare to earlier which helps in traffic or in city. If your 20kms are including highway then only go for sports bike, else don't, you will regret !!
Feature wise R15 is kool, which CBR lacks. TD and see!! I personally like pass switch is very IMP in biking!! Same for ignition switch too!!
I don't feel SOHC or DOHC makes a major difference in these two bikes while riding !! because both have close top ends and power!! I feel R15 more better in handling and braking than CBR 150, BTW i rode CBR 150 only once!! You take a TD and see!!
Comfort wise CBR 150 is way better than R15Last edited by Guest; 10-17-2012, 09:04 PM.

As of now, there has been no official news about the Ninja 150 RR to be released in India. Remember the current version is a 2 stroker, if they are gonna put it up for India, they'll have to develop a 4 Stroke version, which I think is not going to happen, atleast not anytime soon. From what I know, Kawasaki will be releasing the Ninja 300 R by 2013. Also I don't think that even if they did release the 150 R, it will be anywhere near the prices of the R15 or CBR 150. One can expect a price of atleast 1.6 ~ 1.7 L. So the only choices you have are the CBR and R15. If you want looks, can compromise on pillion, decent power and nice maneuverability, go for R15. If you are really concerned about pillion, pick the CBR.Originally posted by hypheni View PostI'm gonna buy a 150cc sports bike in early 2013. I have no past biking experience neither I own a bike. Ninja 150RR is 2-stroke. Won't be released in India till laws are changed. By next year options will be more clear since there could be diwali/christmas time launches/announcements. I suggest you just follow the news section regularly here till then and get back to this thread by Jan 2013
Currently without a vehicle. Uber App and Bangalore Metro serving all my travel needs.

My daily ride includes highway so I thought of sports bike, but what I can find is only one option ie: CBR 150R, Yamaha R15 is not in my mind cause of bad Pillion and ride comfort. I will be often go for a long ride in the weekends, so is there any other options for me in near 2013 ?.
Budget is < 1.4L

R15 is a real Sports bike with real design no compromise!! Even bigger SBKs have heighten rear seat!!Originally posted by hypheni View PostMy daily ride includes highway so I thought of sports bike, but what I can find is only one option ie: CBR 150R, Yamaha R15 is not in my mind cause of bad Pillion and ride comfort. If you want CBR 150 then it's a Sport tourer with 150cc and same is 250cc.
If Pillion comfort is a concern than why not CBR 150r, please let us know why are you behind Ninja 150r. else as MHG suggested
Check News Section daily and get back on this thread!!
Check Duke and and NS200 also. They are more powerful then R15 or CBR 150!!
