Calibration of Tyre Pressure Gauge
Friends, i have recently purchased a Tyre Air Pressure Gauge (Pen Type) from ebay -->http://www.ebay.in/itm/150978385607?...84.m1497.l2649 now the problem is that how do i know whether it is measuring accurately, and almost all puncture repair shops show different readings for same air pressure. so is there a way i can calibrate my instrument.

Machines at fuel stations are pretty good. but changes in tyre temperature changes readings.fill air from fuel station, just after filling, use your gauge. repeat with different station. Further you can double check/cross check.Btw, your gauge supports calibration??

this is the only way...as i know, but any other method is available or not...there must be calibration agency somewhere in india.Comment

I have same one from COIDO. Works just fine when I'm lazy to search the COIDO gauge. In all, the error is +-1.5 psi in my case. The Gauge gives me +-0.8 psi when compared with bunk.Originally posted by princesirohi View PostSafe riding prolongs life (bike & rider & public)Comment

I was about to buy the same from eBay, but then I had these concerns and doubts about its effectiveness. As there could be differences in atmospheric pressure, temp and Tyre temps the readings could vary. Hence I decided to stick to the fuel station ones. Sorry for the late reply. Since you are in Pune try Calibration Laboratories India | Gauge Calibration | Part Inspection |. They are NABL accredited lab.

I almost don't care on them since most of those gauges are used thousands of times so it wont workout! Will fill in fuel station every two weeks and will checkout with experience so no use of gauges for me!Mustard Yellow 2013 200NS - Suave Bloke in the town
