  • Ride from Bangalore to Rameshwaram through the East Coast Road

    Hello everybody,

    This ride is planned to cover the whole of the East Coast Road (ECR).
    Dates: Feb 23rd, Saturday to Feb 25th Monday. Need to take one day off.

    Day 1 - Feb 23rd, Saturday:
    0400 - Leave from Central Silk Board, Bangalore
    1000 - Arrive in Chennai. Have breakfast and relax
    1100 - Leave Chennai and join the ECR
    1230 - Reach Mahabalipuram. Laze on the beach, lunch, etc..
    after Mahabalipuram, it depends on the groups decision whether to visit a few other beaches on the way to Pondicherry or head to Pondicherry directly. Auroville is on the way too.
    Night stay - Pondicherry. It is a 2 hour ride from Mahabalipuram

    Day 2 - Feb 24th, Sunday:
    0600 - Leave Pondicherry
    Mid-day - Reach Point Calimere. Explore the beach and the last remaining dry evergreen type of forest.
    1500 - Leave Point Calimere for Rameshwaram
    Reach Rameshwaram by night

    Day 3 - Feb 25th, Monday:
    Start early morning to explore Rameshwaram.
    Get onto the coracle with the glass bottoms.
    Travel to Adam's bridge.
    1600 - Leave for Bangalore latest by this time so that we reach by 3 in at AM at least. Open to suggestions for the quickest and the safest return route.
