  • Upcoming KTM RC Series- RC125, RC 200, RC 390: xBhp News

The 390 Duke isn’t the only KTM bike that is coming to us! Today it has emerged that the Austrian bike maker KTM, which is partially owned by Bajaj Auto Ltd, will come up with as many as three fully faired small capacity sportsbikes by the end of 2013.

Very much like the 390 Duke, these upcoming bikes will be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show. The 2013 edition of EICMA will be held towards the end of this year and would prove to be a good showing ground for the new KTM bikes.

All the three KTM bikes will sport a design that will be closely inspired by that of the KTM Moto3 race bike. The entry level sportsbikes will be squarely aimed at the likes of the CBR250R and the Hyosung GT250R and will be sold under the RC moniker.

This news comes straight from Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM. Stefan revealed this to renowned motorcycle journalist Alan Cathcart, who represents CycleNews.

The three new fully faired entry level performance motorcycles will be based on the same platform that underpins the 125cc, 200cc and 390cc variants of the Duke. The engines too are likely to be carried over from the Duke series to the upcoming sportsbikes.

The first of these KTM fully faired sportsbikes would be the KTM RC390, which would be based on the India bound 390 Duke. The bike will make it to international markets in 2014 and will be launched in India within a few months after its Europe launch. The KTM RC200 and RC125 will be launched by April 2014 and we expect that the RC200 will be here by the festive season next year. Easily expect the RC125, just like the 125 Duke, to give us a skip. All the three new sportsbikes will be produced at Bajaj’s Chakan facility and will employ a high level of localization.

This means that the bikes are most likely to be priced ultra competitively. It is being expected that the RC200 and the RC390 will be around INR 25000 dearer than the 200 Duke and the 390 Duke.

Although I guess the launch of this series in India next year is a little doubtful, but it will surely hit the country.

Pure gossip, nowhere in that article he talks about these RCx bikes nor if they will be released in India. He makes a passing mention of Husqvarna to be done here but no dates on that too.

Where does he say it will not be released in India?

He mentions it will be released in April 2015, geographical locations were not mentioned!!

Now this is really some good news who were desperately waiting for faired versions KTM bikes (other than 390). Im sure many of them would have already decided to go for it. Hope to see it soon on indian roads.

KTM 390 is almost launched. As per the RC200 i guess RC250 was about to launch and was in news too for quite a time. It is scheduled for this year. And im immensly eyeing forward for the 390 Adventure. It will be awesome not too big on cc figures not alike litre class adventures 600+ and 1000cc. It will be adquate 390 perfect for indian conditions. 45bhp will be cool and powerful enough. It was said to be scheduled for 2014 too. Ill buy it for sure.

Great news, but i guess it is a too little too late for me. April 2014 (optimistic date) is a full year away now.

Till now are seeing Bajaj modifies KTM's some of the component and releases a new model with name of Bajaj tag.

Already we have Duke 200, Duke 390 and Bajaj's NS200 and P375 about to be launched, I guess even P375 would be based on D390( if wrong then correct me please!)

So now with launch of KTM's new model RC series will there be some modified Bajaj models as well ??

If this comes true then this market will become a chaos!! all over Bajaj and KTM models Yuck!!

Rich people will go with KTM and normal people will go with Bajaj.

Cmon bro, why a yukk? Aint it good that such bikes are hitting the country. Atleast wwaaayyy better than what Honda is doing.
The machine should matter and not the maker. I agree you may have your own favorites but it aint that bad right?!
