Suzuki Motorcycle India Employees' Union (SMIEU) have been protesting since February after the suspension of two workers - Avinesh Kumar and Pradeep Kumar. The two allegedly had a violent clash with factory supervisors. Avinesh Kumar is the general secretary of the Union.

The Suzuki management is not in a mood to give in to the unions regarding incidents of violence. The violence at the Manesar plant of Maruti Suzuki means that the company will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline from the workers.

Reminds of only one thing. IT seems that particular belt of industries where suzuki has its plant, have to live with this labour issues for long time.

re: Suzuki Motorcycle's Labour Trouble: xBhp News

Labour policies and judicial tendencies in India always place the labourers in a stronger position than the Management. While this is good to ensure that the labourers are not exploited, we need a mechanism that also ensures that the management is not bullied into their demands.
Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

              OT - A light note:
Extremely sorry to dig old memories but I remember Tenhut quoting - "it took somebody in Suzuki to fire to bring back K@ml@#h K@nda". I only wish, something of that sort happens this time. I feel bad not to have joined Xbhp since the time I actually knew about it
