    BMW S1000RR based Streetfighter model spotted: xBhp News

    The eagle eyes over at the Italian magazine Motociclismo have caught BMW testing the naked-bike version of the BMW S1000RR out in Italy. A machine that has long been rumored
    ahem interesting. Building off an already existing model, a naked RR is the logical next machine to come from zie Germans, and if it debuts as a 2014 machine, then we can expect to see it at the EICMA show in Milan later this year in November (there is no INTERMOT show this year).

      Many tuners in the past (as early as even 2 years ago) have tried making their own respective versions of a naked S1000RR:

      Evoluzione Cyclesports' version:


      Wunderlich-MadUSA version:




      Being Custom means that of course, they both have much louder pipes, than what BMW can get you legally. Plus, other additions that can never make it to a production version, like gold plated chains (in the Evoluzine one).


      Even BMW did notice this in the past, especially Evoluzine's version. Their distributors really appreciated the design. But, of course, just a distributor appreciating doesn't mean its a set deal.

      I find the concept good though. Even if it makes 165 or so bhp, and retails for the same price as S1000RR, its a potential success.

      Back in 2010, BMW refused to make a naked or half faired version of S1000RR, but times change and so do opinions.

        This one looks interesting. Guess we have to wait till end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014 to have a view of the finished version

                Finally a naked from the BMW stable that I like looking at. Their adventure series bikes never did appeal me and the S1000RR was well too much of a confused head to look at. This one looks good! Lets hope they don't give us a weird headlight assembly again.

                      Its quite a strange comment for this time, in 2013, because you didn't say 170 bhp, but you said "do we need 1000CC's"... this question must have been raised quite earlier.
                      Because, from years ago, there were already enough bikes in that segment. Kawasaki Z1/ Z1000SX, Honda CB1000R, Yamaha FZ1, Aprilia Tuono, Ducati Monster 1100, etc, etc...


                      Coming to your point, its difficult to generalize. Depends from people to people. Some fight the streets with 7 bhp (Splendor, etc.) some with 17 (Pulsar, RTR), some with 72 (Ninja 650R) and some with as high as 150 (FZ1).

                      And yes, people have touched as high as even 345 kmph on streets itself. So, depends on what a guy wants to do with it.


                      As far as the market is concerned, those people who hate S1000RR's current headlight setup might buy it, but only if they're taking it for the roads, and not racing.
                      Because, the naked will likely come with a tuned down setup & high speed racing without fairing will be tough.

                      Ultimately, this bike's appeal might sell it more than anything else.

                        This Naked looks more comfortable as compared to its Clothed Brother, however looks more like a CB1000R sideways..kind of a rip off.
