  • Need Suggestion On Bikes : One SBK and one for normal purchase

    Hello Mates.

    I owned a pulsar 220.

Its quite good , but after release of r15 , the craze of p220 goes down.

So , I need to buy a new bike.

My Budget is around - 3lakh Inr

    My requirements :-

    Sporty Look.
    Good Power.
    Good Handling.
Wide Tyres (R15 is sick in it)

Please suggest me guys - Is it possible to import a Ninja 250r 2009 model?

Or should I wait for release of Ninja 250r in India.

    Thanks-
    Razor

Wait for three months for the Ninja 250R. it will be well within ur budget
Else u can get a early generation CBR600. Extend ur budget by half a lakh, and u will be able to get hold of a good Fazer 600 / hornet 600 (2000-2001 model types)

        Thanks yamracing for your reply.
Can't I import ninja 250r from any dealer or importer?
If i will wait 3 months , I can double my budget to 6 lakh Inr.
What brand new bikes came in this price range?
Can anyone tell me the cost of brand new Cbr 600rr 2007 model and yamaha r6 2008 model including customs if willing to import to india?

        Thanks in advance.

@Razor: If you say what you say about 'doubling' your finances and stuff, then I would suggest you wait for about six months, and get the 09'R1!

                    ok jokes apart..
@Ansh- In a budget of 3lakh INR i dont think there is any decent first hand bike available, provided u get it imported from improper channel.

Taking the customs and taxes into consideration , a Ninja 250R will cost you more than 3 lakhs as of now.

If your budget is 6 lakhs after 3 months, i think its better u wait.
Within that amount u can import a decent 250cc ..

If u are willing to spend less than 3 lakhs after 3 months then Ninja 250R will be there for u.
Bike is highly upgradable and u can spend rest 3 lakhs on imported modifications.

Are you buying the bike just to satisfy your ego that you have a bigger bike than the contemporary bikes?
If your answer is yes, then definitely you'll start looking for another bike soon enough after getting one (specially a 250CC).

In 3L you might get a decent 1990s 600 machine but if you want sell it off in near future (which I assume you would), you'll have a hard time selling it buddy as it would have run more than 25k on the odo and by that time the bike would be more 10 years old Now a days everybody likes to have the latest bike in his stable except for some people who love to own a classic bike and those people are hard to find.

My suggestion keep the money with you, save a little more (as you say you can double the amount in 3 months) and go for the machine that you like and want to own, be it 600 or 1000CC.

So think hard before you go for it.
At the end it is your money, spend it the way you want to but just wanted to convey my thoughts on this.

PS: I also would like to know how do you double your money in just 3 months

Considering your additional 3lacs in 3 months, I would say read this Financing option given by Bussan Auto Finance India Pvt. Ltd. (BAF India).
Products | India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.

                        Why Wait?
Do a little math pay 3lac (just a little over 3lacs I believe) as downpayment now and get your legal R1 and pay back rest as EMI. If I am not wrong you can pay back in a span of 6 to 60 months.

**hurry up offer valid till 30 Nov 08 !!!

I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my motorcycle.
Ride often, ride well, have fun.

That would be the most sensible thing to do, without getting into any legal hassles of importing a seemingly "illegal" bike..

Yep !, considering that the legal R1 will have comprehensive insurance, which can be a boon when you have an accident involving only yourself, 3rd party insurance doesnt cover this aspect, and honestly you wouldnt get financially strained even.

after all just buying a SBK isnt the thing, maintaining it is more of an issue. Getting an imported bike maintained can be quite a headache since there arent many garages who can service/repair (if necessary) SBK's, on the other hand , even if your R1 throws any problem at you then you can at least bother the yamaha officials at the dealership !

                            Note

Rossiter (Akhil) can throw a lot more light on this matter.

is vidhyarthi ko koi loan do, R15 lena hai , bees hazar kam pad raha hai
A man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.
